Hello, my name is Yuri Barreto. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the Federal University of Pernambuco. I am a postdoctoral researcher in the CLEAN unit at Bocconi University and research fellow at the Group of Evaluation of Public and Economic Policies (GAPPE).

My research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Development Economics and the Journal of Urban Economics. In 2024, I received the CAPES Thesis Award for the best doctoral thesis in economic sciences in Brazil, as well as the Haralambos Simeonidis Prize for the best PhD thesis. Previously, I worked as a consultant with the Development Impact (DIME) group at the World Bank.
