Yunji Tab is a free and open source Chrome extension developed by KIWI. It turns the new tab

page into a workspace for searching, organizing, and managing the bookmarks already stored in

  your browser.

This Privacy Policy explains what data Yunji Tab handles, why it is needed, where it is stored,

and when it may be sent to a third party.

  ## 1. Data Yunji Tab Handles

  ### Browser bookmarks

Yunji Tab reads your Chrome bookmarks, including bookmark titles, URLs, folder names, folder

structure, and bookmark identifiers. This information is required to display, search, organize,

create, edit, move, delete, import, export, and restore bookmarks.

  ### Settings and bookmark metadata

Yunji Tab stores extension settings and metadata that Chrome bookmarks do not support, such as

descriptions, tags, custom icons, pinned status, inbox status, alternate URLs, saved filters,

  and usage history.

  ### Active page information

When you use Quick Save, the context menu, or another user initiated command, Yunji Tab may

read the active page's title and URL so it can save or process that page. It does not monitor

  active pages continuously.

  ### Tab information

When you use tab session features, Yunji Tab reads the titles and URLs of eligible open web

tabs so it can save and restore the session. It also uses tab information to open bookmarks and

focus or reuse the Yunji Tab home page.

  ### Website content requested by you

If you start a page description fetch or link check, Yunji Tab accesses the selected website to

retrieve the information needed for that feature. Website access occurs only after you initiate

the feature and grant the requested site permission.

  ### AI classification data

AI classification is optional. If you configure an OpenAI compatible service and run

classification, Yunji Tab sends the following data to the service endpoint you selected:

  - Bookmark titles

  - Bookmark URLs with query parameters removed

  - Bookmark descriptions and tags

  - Current bookmark folder paths

The service returns organization suggestions. Yunji Tab changes bookmarks only after you review

  and confirm those suggestions.

  ### API credentials

If you enter an API token for an AI service, Yunji Tab stores it locally in extension storage

and sends it only to the endpoint you configured for authentication. The token is not included

  in metadata sync or backups.

Yunji Tab requires HTTPS when a token is sent to a remote endpoint. Unencrypted HTTP is allowed

only for loopback services running on your own device.

  ## 2. How Yunji Tab Uses Data

Yunji Tab uses data only to provide and improve its user facing bookmark management features.

The developer does not use extension data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or

purposes unrelated to Yunji Tab's single purpose.

Yunji Tab does not collect analytics or telemetry. The developer does not operate a server that

receives your bookmarks, browsing history, settings, API credentials, or other extension data.

  ## 3. Local Storage and Browser Sync

Most extension data is stored locally in your browser through Chrome extension storage and

  browser caches.

Chrome manages native bookmarks separately. Changes made in Yunji Tab are reflected in Chrome's

bookmark system and may sync through your browser account if Chrome bookmark sync is enabled.

Yunji Tab can also sync selected supplemental bookmark metadata through Chrome Sync. You can

choose which metadata fields to sync and may enable passphrase encryption before the metadata

is written to sync storage. Google processes Chrome Sync data under Google's applicable terms

  and privacy policy.

  ## 4. Third Party Services

  ### Google Favicon service

To display bookmark icons, Yunji Tab may send a bookmark's domain name to Google's Favicon

service. It does not send the bookmark's path, query parameters, or page content for this

request. Google may receive standard request information, such as your IP address, when serving

  the icon.

  ### Websites selected by you

When you request page metadata or a link check, Yunji Tab connects directly to the relevant

website. That website may receive standard network request information and handles it under its

  own privacy policy.

  ### AI service selected by you

When you use AI classification, the configured AI provider receives the classification data

described above. Yunji Tab does not control that provider's storage, retention, or use of data.

Review the provider's privacy policy before enabling this feature.

  ### Chrome and Chrome Web Store

Chrome provides extension storage, bookmark APIs, optional synchronization, and permission

controls. Google separately handles information related to Chrome and the Chrome Web Store

  under Google's privacy policies.

  ## 5. Data Sharing and Sale

Yunji Tab does not sell or rent user data.

Yunji Tab shares data only when required to perform a feature you requested, such as obtaining

a favicon, checking a link, fetching page metadata, syncing selected metadata through Chrome,

or sending a classification request to your configured AI provider.

No extension data is shared with advertisers or data brokers.

  ## 6. Permissions

Yunji Tab requests the following Chrome permissions:

  - storage: Saves settings, local metadata, recoverable deleted items, tab sessions, and caches.

  - bookmarks: Reads and manages your native Chrome bookmarks.

  - favicon: Retrieves site icons through the browser's favicon API.

  - activeTab: Reads the current page after a user initiated action.

  - scripting: Displays the isolated global command palette after you invoke it.

  - contextMenus: Adds the "Save to Yunji Tab" page menu command.

  - tabs: Supports user initiated tab actions, saved sessions, bookmark opening, and reuse of the

    Yunji Tab home page.

  - Google and gstatic host permissions: Retrieve and display bookmark favicons.

  - Optional website permissions: Access a website or user configured service only after you

start a feature that requires access and approve the permission.

Recoverable deletion snapshots are retained for up to 30 days. You can clear them earlier in

  Yunji Tab's settings.

You can use Settings > Data to clear usage history, the favicon cache, tab sessions, trash,

supplemental metadata, and stored website permissions. You can also revoke website access

  through Chrome's extension settings.

Removing supplemental Yunji Tab data does not automatically delete your native Chrome

bookmarks. Deleting a bookmark through Yunji Tab changes the corresponding native Chrome

  bookmark.

Data sent to Google, a website, or your configured AI provider is subject to that service's

  retention and deletion practices.

  ## 8. Security

Yunji Tab limits access to the permissions needed for its features and requests broad website

access only when you start a feature that requires it. Remote AI credentials must use HTTPS.

API tokens are excluded from sync and backups.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Keep your browser, device, sync

account, and third party API credentials protected.

  ## 9. Children's Privacy

Yunji Tab is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect

  personal information from children.

  ## 10. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data

Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Yunji Tab's use and transfer of user data is limited to providing or improving its single

purpose as a bookmark workspace. Human access, transfer, sale, or use of user data for

advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes is prohibited except where

required for security, legal compliance, or a user requested feature.

  ## 11. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when Yunji Tab's features or data practices change. The revised

version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
