Yumcook (“Yumcook,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Yumcook mobile application for iOS (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and what choices you have when you use the App.
This policy applies to the App and related services accessed through the App. It does not apply to third-party websites or services you may open from the App (for example, social networks linked from a profile).
Operator: [Legal Entity Name], [Country/Address] (if applicable).
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
We collect information needed to run the App, sync your account, show the community recipe feed, process subscriptions, improve stability, and (for non‑Pro users) show ads.
We do not sell your personal information.
Local-only features (for example, Meal Planner) stay on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
Publishing a recipe makes certain content public to other users.
You can delete your account in the App; deletion removes most of your cloud data as described below.
Apple Health: optional water logging only, with your permission.
We collect information in the ways below depending on how you use the App.

When you report a recipe, the App may include app version and a device-related identifier in the draft message to help us investigate.
Some data is stored only on your device using local storage (SwiftData) and is not sent to our servers unless you sign in and sync or publish:
Recipes and categories you keep private (not published)
Meal Planner data
Cached community feed data for faster loading
Local water intake logs (always stored locally; optionally copied to Health as described in Section 8)
If you uninstall the App, local data may be removed by iOS unless you have a device backup.
To set a recipe cover or profile photo, the App uses Apple’s system photo picker. You choose specific photos; we do not request full access to your photo library. We receive only the image data you select, which may be uploaded to our cloud storage when you save a profile photo or publish a recipe.
We do not use your device camera through the App for photos in the current version.
Subscriptions and free trials are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We and our subscription partner (RevenueCat) may receive subscription status, product identifiers, and related metadata needed to enable Pro features.
In the current App version we do not:
Collect precise GPS location
Read data from Apple Health except as stated in Section 8 (we do not read Health data)
Require access to your full photo library
Offer direct messaging between users
We use information to:
Provide the App — account sign-in, sync profile and recipes, community feed, follows, reviews, blocking, PDF export, and Pro features.
Operate community features — display published recipes, moderate reported content, enforce community rules, and adjust discovery metadata (see Section 5).
Process subscriptions — validate Yumcook Pro, restore entitlements, and manage trials.
Show advertising — display banner and rewarded ads for users without an active Pro subscription (see Section 7).
Improve reliability — analytics and crash reporting.
Communicate with you — respond to support requests and reports.
Protect users and the service — prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms or community rules.
Comply with law — where required by applicable law or valid legal process.
We do not use your personal information to sell it to data brokers. We do not use your recipe content for third-party advertising profiles beyond what our ad partners need to deliver ads under their own policies.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal data on these bases:
Purpose
Legal basis
Providing the App and performing our contract with you
Contract (performance of terms of use)
Community features, security, moderation
Legitimate interests (operating a safe platform)
Analytics and crash reporting
Legitimate interests (improving the App)
Advertising (non‑Pro users)
Legitimate interests and, where required, Consent via device or partner controls
Compliance with law
Legal obligation
Account deletion and rights requests
Legal obligation / Contract
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
When you publish a recipe to the Yumcook community:
Other users can view the recipe (title, ingredients, instructions, times, servings, images, and related fields you published).
Your public profile information (such as display name, username, avatar, and bio) may appear with your content.
Other users may rate and review your recipes.
Content you do not publish remains on your device (or in your private account sync) and is not shown in the public community feed.
Before publishing, you are asked to agree that:
A cover photo and all required recipe fields must be completed in the App to publish.
Yumcook may adjust discovery and filter tags (metadata used for search and browsing) to help users find recipes.
Yumcook may moderate published content, including replacing, editing, or removing cover images, and editing recipe text when something is incorrect, unsafe, contains offensive or inappropriate language, or otherwise violates community rules or applicable law.
Yumcook may remove a published recipe, restrict its visibility, or remove or restrict accounts that abuse the service, post illegal content, or are reported for violations.
Yumcook will not change your recipe’s title, ingredients, instructions, servings, or times for ordinary editorial reasons, except where moderation, legal, safety, or technical reasons require it (as described above).
We may also remove or restrict accounts that abuse the service.
You can report a community recipe via in-app tools (which open your email app with pre-filled details).
You can block another user so their content is hidden from your feed.
Block lists are stored in association with your account.
If you delete your account:
We delete your profile, published recipes, and related cloud data as described in Section 12.
Reviews you left on other users’ recipes may remain, including the display name and photo stored on each review at the time you posted. Those may be shown as from a “Former member” after deletion.
Yumcook offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (“Yumcook Pro”) for features such as removing ads, unlimited community publishing, PDF export, and related Pro benefits.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you turn off renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.
Free trials, if offered, convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends (per Apple’s rules).
Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
We use RevenueCat to verify subscription status in the App. RevenueCat and Apple process data under their own privacy policies.
If you do not have an active Yumcook Pro subscription, the App may show banner ads and rewarded video ads (for example, optional unlocks for certain features).
Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google LLC).
We configure ad requests for non-personalized ads where supported (we do not rely on personalized ad tracking through the App for those requests).
Ad partners may still collect limited technical data (such as device type, ad interaction, and IP address) under their policies to deliver ads and measure performance.
You can limit ad tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iPhone and in your Google ad settings.
Pro subscribers should not see in-app banner ads in the normal Pro experience as implemented in the App.
Yumcook includes an optional Water tracker. You may choose to sync water intake with Apple Health.
We request permission to write only Dietary Water (hydration) to Health.
We do not read your Health data in the current App version.
Water is written to Health only when you enable the Apple Health option in Water tracker settings and grant write access in Apple’s permission sheet.
If you deny access or turn the option off, logging stays only in the App; we do not write to Health.
When you delete a drink in the App, we attempt to remove the corresponding Health sample we created, when possible.
You can revoke access anytime: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Yumcook.
Health data in Apple’s Health app is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your device settings.
We use service providers that process data on our behalf. They may only use data as needed to provide their services to us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version at https://yumcook.app/privacy and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may also notify you in the App or by other reasonable means.
Continued use of the App after the effective date of an update means you accept the revised policy, unless otherwise required by law.
