I am Yuejiang Liu, currently a postdoc at Stanford University, advised by Chelsea Finn and mentored by Yilun Du. Previously, I obtained my PhD at EPFL, advised by Alexandre Alahi, and interned with Francesco Locatello, Chris Russell, and Bernhard Schölkopf.
I enjoy designing, prototyping, and understanding algorithms that enable deep neural networks to generalize and adapt to the unexpected. I am particularly interested in physical intelligence in open dynamic worlds, where robot data is fundamentally limited while moving objects, partial observability, and other interactive agents are the norm. To address these challenges, my research spans three interconnected elements:
Reactive robot policy: designing objectives and mechanisms for dynamic model adaptation during inference
Predictive world model: incorporating structured or causal priors to anticipate complex spatio-temporal interactions
Proactive data curation: synthesizing, selecting, and exploring informative experiences to drive continual improvement
