Yesterday, February 9, 2022, we have lost our dear President of University of Saint Anthony. We deeply mourn the death of Atty. Santiago D. Ortega Jr., and as we part with him, we hope that he is in a better place now and pray that his soul may rest in peace.

As our President, he was the cornerstone of our school and the pillar of education. He would always give words of wisdom and encouraged his employees, he also reminded us to do our best and to work hard so that we may bring pride to our school. He was not only our President, or the Chairman of the board, he was also an educator.

During his time serving as the President, he has shaped our prestigious institution into how it is today. A school that values its students and gives quality education, with its value of giving back to the community and extending our services in our own little ways.

As Anthonians, we are thankful for his guidance and to the University and its administration. We may not be able to celebrate the school’s foundation with our President anymore but we will continue to keep his memory alive and keep the legacy that he built for our school. We will continue to uphold his values and remember what he lived for, to keep the burning passion for our university.
