Alumnus and Former Youth Leader, Ben B. Secretario motivated young leaders during his talk in the First-ever USANT Junior Highschool Virtual Oath Taking Ceremony with the theme: “Welcoming New Challenges and Better Versions of Leaders” today November 19, 2021, via Facebook Live.
In his talk, he discussed the 8 Dimension of Wellness: Emotional, Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, Environmental, Financial, Occupational, and Social, and how he wishes to have found it out before. “I hoped I had heard this during my time when I was just developing myself as a young leader so that along the way something is guiding me as I endeavor to do things with my life but now, I’m sharing,” he said.
Moreover, he said, “May rason kung bakit nandiyan ka, May rason kung bakit ka elected as an officer in that organization, find that meaning and it’s only you who can find that meaning for yourself.”
“You need to have the attitude of learners, don’t think you know everything because again there’s no monopoly of knowledge; Be curious, ask questions, don’t just settle for what was given, don’t just accept what you see or what you hear but challenge it” Secretario added.
“I hoped that as you take the oath, a few minutes from now, You will remember these words, you will remember this learning because again this will be a start of a new you, of a new student leader, and I hope you will embrace it because it will take a lot of courage, it takes a lot of maturity, it takes a lot of self-awareness to take that oath later, so again, I challenge you to be the best version of yourself, to be a better student leader, to be the best young leader that you can be” he concluded.
