With the theme “Empowering Youth Leadership and Peer Support Amidst Pandemic,” the Student Government Federation conducted a webinar today, October 16, 2021, via Zoom.

As stated in the talk of Mr. Luis D. Magdamit Jr., the guest speaker of the event, ”Why do we need to empower the youth? So, youth empowerment actually focuses on creating a better community which centers on creating a strong independent individual,”.

As part of the introduction of his topic, “Youth empowerment will help to build a better tomorrow which elevates the standard of living of the people. It is pursued by promoting youth drives, youth activism and standing for rights. It is the most effective means of making a better future for the country. So, that is why we need to empower the youth, in order for them to create a better future,” he added.

He also gave an overview of the discussion, understanding the meaning of the three main words; Youth, Leadership, and Empowerment. He explained in every way to empower youth leadership, Keys to Effective Leadership in the New Normal, and the ways we can do to support our peers, friend, and ourselves amidst the COVID-19 Crisis.

“So, in this time of pandemic, you have to tell your peer, you have to tell your friends and family that they are not alone, that many others feel the same way and the support is available, anytime.” Magdamit said as the end of his talk.
