As part of the University of Saint Anthony (USANT)'s celebration of Science and Math Month, the Junior High School Department of USANT conducted a Closing Ceremony for the 2021 Local Science and Math Fair, today, October 11, 2021, via Facebook Live.
According to Christian I. Lamud, the guest speaker of the program, “This year's theme is very timely and empowering as we continue to face a global crisis and these challenges of times. It's timely because now more than ever, we need the combined powers of Science, Research, and Technology to cope with the challenges of these days and it's empowering because the theme gives us hope that with the help of Science, Research, and Technology we will once again achieve a strong and progressive community,” emphasizing the theme of this year’s fair.
In his talk, he also referred to Science, Research, and Technology as the “big three” that continue to change the world for the better, and how these three are necessary for attaining progress and prosperity in the community.
“To the Science and Mathematics Teachers, let us not get tired of planting the seeds of wisdom into the minds of our students. This is the time when our youth need competent and compassionate teachers who can deliver quality instruction despite the difficulties that we are experiencing. And to you my dear students, I hope that you continue learning and exploring no matter how difficult it seems. Be curious, be inquisitive, and be open-minded. The world is full of possibilities and opportunities,” Lamud concluded.
