Blissful memories flash for the most anticipated time of the year. The idea of planning for Christmas Eve, buying gifts, and caroling on the streets was never boring. This year, a pandemic landed and triggered a major shift to the nostalgic Christmas traditions. Despite the global pandemic, our strong admiration to holidays won't cut back the celebration. The season and joyous vibe of Christmas will always remain, but due to covid-19 restrictions, it would be difficult for family gatherings.
As the physical bond will be skipped, relatives from the other side will be out of reach. The bountiful Noche Buena and reunion of the whole clan is divided by a boundary whose doors are virtually open. At this point, the majority owns a gadget for communication. It is the only opportunity to connect with friends and relatives and join together in a call and reunite. In spite of the contrasting time and setting, the spirit and meaning of Christmas will bind us together.
Truly, re-creating Christmas in this pandemic is far different. The vibe will never be the same, opening gifts are down to a minimum quantity, and the interaction is reduced for safety purposes. If it is hard for those with connectivity, then it’s harder for those without access to any. The COVID-19 outbreak is not a hindrance to the occasion because 25th of December is still the birth of Jesus. Christmas must go on, some traditions just needs to be modified and omitted in order to have a safe and harmonious celebration.
