This day marks the fall of the Philippines’ National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. He was not known for being a great warrior on the battlefield but instead was a warrior of the mind. Through his writing he inspired and moved the people, instigating a revolution. He symbolized goodness and compassion in which he showcased by fighting silently but still created waves and made a powerful impression on everyone. Although he met his end at the hands of the Spaniards, his death only served as fuel for the Filipinos, to honor his death by fighting until the end.
The history that this country carries will forever be ingrained in the hearts and minds of the Filipinos and it is with this memory that we keep the fire alive, it will be within us that we preserve. We must never forget the sacrifices that our heroes have made. All for the betterment of our country, they have fought to secure a brighter future for the generations to come. So, honor their legacies and look towards the future, all while carrying the memories of the past.
