How influential is art? It fosters creativity and invites perspectives to the ways of life. The exquisite colors of our culture are slowly declining as our patriotism is on the wane. Art is an integral key for evoking our sense of connection that is fundamental to the preservation of our democracy.
Over time, youth have gone astray to the mundane part of our world. The true meaning of our freedom is being misconceived, and our democracy is retreating. Controversies and arising issues are blinding us from the beautiful part of reality. Where creativity and ingenuity thrive, art is what keeps us inspired and captivated. It reminds us of the beauty we have despite challenging times.
Art is a broad subject and has many constituents. Its major forms include visual arts (drawing, filmmaking, painting, photography, and sculpting), literary arts (fiction, drama, poetry, and prose), and performing arts (dance, music, and theatre). Anything that expresses thoughts and emotions that arises from our imagination can be called art.
Our country is abundant when it comes to this subject because Filipinos are born artists. From our history, art has been thriving within us since the rise of our culture. Different art forms from our famous artists have showcased the beauty of our people and our country. Their masterpieces are the timeline of our history and what embraces us to be Filipino. It conveyed strong messages enough to make an impact in our society. It empowers our sense of nationalism and inspires us to change for the better.
Whatever form it takes, it speaks and tells us more than words can say. From drawings and paintings to dramas and poets. From photography and films to music and dance. It’s powerful and beautiful. Through art, we learn to empathize and connect. It improves our creative and imaginative skills. Those are essential to wake the Filipino spirit among the youth. And learn how to value the freedom our heroes had sacrificed their lives for.
Art serves as the window to the unspoken truth. It lets you see beyond what is displayed and represents its inner significance. It magnetized the eyes, captures attention, invades our minds, and touches the soul of every viewer. It is a powerful tool used to inspire and communicate with people. It translates into a hidden message that everyone must know. It enkindles our awareness of the circumstances we need to pay heed to.
It is a form of communication that links the Filipinos to strengthen the bond of our race. It stimulates our sense of empathy and unity. It fosters a nourishing connection and positive social change. It has the potential to make our country something more than democratic. Something that would reflect the freedom we truly deserve.
Art exhibits our freedom to convey our thoughts and rights about our own country in different ways. The equality and privilege we have to use our expressiveness to cohere the Filipinos. To use our mind, hand, voice, or any medium of expression that would reach our people. To utilize it for the revival and continuity of our patriotism and unite for the better future of our country. It may not change society itself, but it can change individuals. Individuals that can and will transfer its influential value to other people. And to show that through art, there is hope. Art is what will strengthen the foundation and perpetuation of our democracy.
