If you want lightweight, USB-C headphones with a child-focused volume limit for airplane travel, choose yoygerty Upgrade USB Type; if you need compact in-ear monitors with a wrap-around fit for gaming and calls, choose Piluyaa Gaming Headphones IEM. The decisive difference is over-ear-style on-ear listening versus earbuds, plus the yoygerty’s 85 dB or 94 dB limiter compared with Piluyaa’s in-line playback and call buttons.
• yoygerty’s biggest strength: a USB-C wired on-ear design with a selectable 85 dB or 94 dB volume limit for kids. Trade-off: it is less compact than an in-ear set and requires a USB-C connection.
• Piluyaa’s biggest strength: very light in-ear monitors with ear hooks, three pairs of silicone tips, and controls for calls and playback. Trade-off: its remote does not support volume adjustment, and it has no stated child-focused volume limiter.
• Choose yoygerty for a child using compatible USB-C devices for lessons, listening, or travel.
• Choose Piluyaa for an adult who prefers a small, secure in-ear fit for gaming, music, and calls.
• These products solve different problems. The yoygerty is built around a child-friendly on-ear format and controlled listening levels. The Piluyaa is built around an in-ear fit, a light feel, and a cable with practical call and playback controls. Neither has a wireless connection: both are wired USB-C options, so the device needs a compatible port.
• For airplane travel, the choice is less about declaring one design universally better and more about who is wearing it and what matters during the trip. A child’s volume limit and straightforward on-ear fit may matter more than compactness. An adult who prefers earbuds may favor the Piluyaa’s small, lightweight earpieces and ear hooks.
The yoygerty is a wired, on-ear headphone for kids and teens, with a built-in USB-C connector. Its strongest distinguishing feature is the volume limit, which can be set at 85 dB or 94 dB. That makes it the more purpose-specific choice for families who want a defined listening ceiling for a child using a compatible tablet, Chromebook, or laptop. It also has an inline microphone for online classes and calls.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
The adjustable headband and soft ear cushions are intended to support a comfortable fit, while the earpieces swivel flat for easier storage. Those details make sense for school bags and travel, though they do not make it as compact as an in-ear pair. For airplane travel with a child, I would focus on the fit and the volume limit rather than assume the headphones cancel cabin noise; no active noise cancellation is specified.
I’d choose the yoygerty for a child who needs wired headphones for lessons, media, or a trip, especially when a volume limit is a priority. I’d skip it if the wearer wants earbuds, needs wireless listening, or expects the cable controls to adjust volume: the product information identifies volume control, but does not describe the exact control operation. It is not a strong match for someone searching for multipoint kids headphones, since it is wired rather than a wireless multipoint model.
The Piluyaa is a wired USB-C in-ear monitor with an 11 mm dynamic driver. Its light earpieces, three pairs of silicone tips, and memory ear hooks give it a more compact, close-fitting design than the yoygerty. The hooks are intended to help the earbuds stay in place, while the included tip options offer different fits. For gaming, that could suit someone who prefers earbuds over a headset with ear cups, though the specifications do not establish platform-specific gaming features or a dedicated gaming microphone.
Its inline microphone sits on the cable, and the remote can answer or end calls, pause or play audio, and skip tracks. The key limitation is explicit: volume adjustment is not supported on that remote. The cable is USB-C, so compatibility depends on the device having a suitable USB-C audio connection. There is no stated wireless mode or volume limiter.
I’d consider the Piluyaa for an adult who wants small wired earbuds for gaming, music, or phone calls and values a secure fit. The ear hooks may also appeal during movement, but the listed details do not establish that these are sweatproof earphones for mobile gaming, so I would not buy them on that assumption. If you prefer an adjustable over-ear-style band, need a child-focused volume limit, or want volume buttons on the cable, the yoygerty is the more relevant option.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for a compact in-ear design → Piluyaa Gaming Headphones IEM. Its earpieces weigh 2.3 g each, and its ear hooks are designed to help keep them in place.
• Best for online lessons or calls for a child → yoygerty Upgrade USB Type. It has an inline microphone and an on-ear format aimed at kids and teens.
• Best for calls and playback controls on the cable → Piluyaa Gaming Headphones IEM. Its remote handles calls and track playback, but not volume.
• Best for a choice of ear-tip fit → Piluyaa Gaming Headphones IEM. It includes three pairs of silicone tips; the yoygerty instead has an adjustable headband.
• Best for easier packing in a school bag → yoygerty Upgrade USB Type. Its earpieces swivel flat, although it remains a larger on-ear style than the Piluyaa earbuds.
• Best for someone seeking the best neckband headphones for remote work → neither is a neckband. The yoygerty has a headband, while the Piluyaa uses in-ear earpieces and ear hooks; choose based on fit rather than expecting a neckband design.
• Best for airplane travel with a child → yoygerty Upgrade USB Type. I’d favor its child-focused limiter and on-ear design, while noting that no noise-cancellation feature is specified.
The practical distinction is not simply “headphones versus earbuds.” It is also how much control you want over the listening setup. The yoygerty makes its volume limit central. The Piluyaa gives an adult more ways to manage calls and playback without taking out a phone, but leaves volume adjustment to the connected device.
Neither product is wireless, and both rely on USB-C. Check that the intended device supports USB-C audio before choosing either one. If several family members will use the headphones, fit and age matter too: the yoygerty is described for kids and teens, while the Piluyaa is described for adults and offers replaceable-size tips.
My Verdict
For a child, I’d choose the yoygerty because it has a stated volume limiter and an adjustable on-ear fit. The Piluyaa is the more compact option for adults who prefer in-ear earbuds. Neither product lists active noise cancellation.
Its cable remote supports answering or ending calls and controlling playback, including skipping tracks. The product details specifically say that volume control is not supported on the remote, so volume needs to be handled on the connected device.
No. Both are wired USB-C products, and neither is described as supporting wireless multipoint connections. Confirm that the device you plan to use supports USB-C audio.
Choose the Piluyaa if you prefer in-ear monitors, ear hooks, and cable controls for calls and playback. Choose the yoygerty for a child who needs a volume limit. The listed details do not establish platform-specific gaming compatibility or sweatproof protection for either option.
