What Happened To Fatherhood ?
In traditional family dynamics, the father typically plays the role of a masculine figure who is the spiritual leader and protector of the family. The father as the head of the household encompasses qualities such as strength, wisdom, and guidance. Fathers are the ones who provide (along with our wives) for and protect their loved ones, instilling Catholic values and morals that shape the family unit. Todays culture is trying to destroy all that.
Todays Father is supposed to be feminine, your friend and not your parent. A real father is supposed to teach a child our Catholic faith and values. That is usually not all that popular with our children in todays mis-guided culture where narcism and love of consumption reign.
I am a father. Not good nor bad, just practicing. I struggle while writing this. My children are all are good loving parents and I am proud of them all of them.
My wife is a great mother !
My one regret as a father is I did not focus more on our Catholic faith when my children were younger. I was to focused on things that really did not matter in the long run.
So my dream Fathers Day is to go to Church with all my Children, their spouses and all my grand kids and then go out for lunch.
I pray every day for all my children to be filled with the grace and virtues of the Holy Spirit, be good practicing Catholics and for all my grandchildren to be baptized.
