Young Joon Lee is a professor at Cheju Halla University. His research focuses on adopting and applying cutting-edge technologies to economics and finance research, such as Big Data, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., Young Joon worked in the financial services industry for over ten years, including eight years as a quantitative analyst at Hyundai Securities. His professional background adds significant value to his academic research, including an understanding of asset management, quantitative investment strategies, what the industry requires from academia, and the commercial application of information technologies in the financial services industry.

With academic degrees ranging from computer science to finance and work experience in the financial services industry, he is uniquely qualified to conduct interdisciplinary research on two frontiers: financial innovation and information technology.

Young Joon received his Ph.D. in Finance, MA in Economics, and BS in Industrial Engineering & Computer Science from Yonsei University.
