Twenty minutes of cutesy, awkward and effective 'back story' consists of Rob's earlier, mostly recorded-over 'best day ever' with his best girl. Testimonials from his young professional friends and acquaintances at his party, recorded by his goofy friend Hud (T.J. Miller) and brother Jason (Mike Vogel), are taped over that best day. Hud cuts off heads, focuses a little too closely on cleavage, videos a lover's spat (Odette Yustman is Rob's ex), overhears conversations he shouldn't and tapes his own amusingly clumsy efforts to get to know Marlena, played by Lizzy Caplan as an homage to Zooey Deschanel.

But there's a reason Ridley Scott cast Yaphet Kotto, Vanessa Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton and company in 'Alien.' We sympathize with the plight of these young lives interrupted in 'Cloverfield.' We don't empathize with them. Yaphet Kotto's grisly, heroic death in Scott's monster classic has more resonance than every casualty in this improv movie. The actors in 'Cloverfield' don't have many emoting moments, and don't make enough of them.

SUBSTANCE USE - Many people are shown drinking alcohol (beer, wine and liquor) in an extended party sequence, and a young woman talks about having been really drunk the last time she met a young man and that she doesn't remember much.

This theory is nearly airtight, but requires mathematical equations and algebraic formulas to come to the conclusion that there are two monsters. In one instance, the monster appears to be approximately twenty feet larger than it did previously. Fans have utilized infographics for locating the approximate dimensions of the Cloverfield monster as well as the real-life heights, widths, and lengths of the structures that the monster destroys. There are also specific instances where the creature looks much older, and then suddenly younger. It is perhaps one of the most complex fan theories on the monster or monsters, but is backed up with a lot of research and dedication.

Use a disc or field cultivator to disturb the grass sod from November through January or early February. The protein content of red clover can be nearly as high as that of alfalfa. Red clover cut for hay at the 50 percent bloom stage usually exceeds 14 or 15 percent protein. Many times red clover is not harvested soon enough; it is under these conditions that unfavorable quality results. Don't wait until it is in full bloom. Also, when harvested too late, new growth from the crown has started to elongate. When these young shoots are removed, a sharp reduction in the second growth often occurs.

Played by Clover Nee (fitting name, eh?), Molly is a young girl who a doctor named Michael (Roger Davies) finds standing in the rubble of his destroyed hospital after unfathomable attacks. She wails for help, and he rescues her, driving her away to safety. In the car, she explains that her uncle has died, probably in the hospital's destruction, and Michael promises her that they're going to track down her parents. In the meantime, Michael gets the OK from a friend via text to use his shelter, and when the duo arrive there, Michael uses his medical skills to tend to Molly's injured arm. He also eventually manages to make contact with Molly's parents, and hears that they're grateful their daughter is alive and well. Later, Michael learns through a phone call that his wife, Cloverfield Space Station worker Ava (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), is returning to Earth, while Molly watches on curiously.

And that's basically the extent of what's known about the young character. It's totally possible that Molly doesn't have any significant purpose in the movie other than giving Michael someone to take care of while he's desperately looking for answers about his wife, who's suffering on the Cloverfield Station and without communication to Earth. After all, Michael does give a moving speech to Ava via phone message about trying to be there for others and save as many people as possible even when disaster is striking all around them. Molly might simply be a girl in the wrong place at the wrong time, an innocent rescued by Michael and brought to shelter before hopefully eventually reuniting with her family.
