An arrogant pastor cannot do this because being compassionate requires being empathetic. A healthy pastor is extremely compassionate because they are intentional about trying to put themselves into the shoes of others and that helps them to love in an extraordinary way.

(1) Be not conformed to this world. In order to be totally committed to Jesus, we must not conform ourselves to the world. Paul is referring here to the world system or to a secular world view. When we conform ourselves to the views and ways of the world, we cannot possible live a life that is totally committed to Christ. A relationship with Jesus is everything that is opposite from the world. When you are transformed by the power of the Gospel, your attitude will change, your vision will change, your goals will change, your talk will change, your dress will change, your walk will change; everything will change. Too many Christians today live with one foot in the world and one foot inside the church. They want Jesus, but they do not want to change. They do not want to give up their worldly ways. I am afraid that too often we tend to sugar-coat our sin. We tend to look over sin and not take it seriously. However, it must be understood, that you and I cannot be an acceptable sacrifice to God if we are wrapped up in things of this world. We must be sold out to Jesus completely. Conforming to the world comes in all different ways.
I lost my only child. Jonathan to cancer at age 25 in 2012. Still seems lie yesterday. Not a day goes by that I Dont cry for him. Jon was a smart ,caring person who just graduated from college , ready to start the next chapter in his life when he was diagnosed, He loved playing guitar and writing his own music. Each day I would give anything to hear him call me Mom and to hear him playing his guitar.I have great family and friends but nobody really understands how life changes when you lose your child.I feel that he was cheated and I feel guilty that I am still here and he has gone to heaven.. I will continue to celebrate his life and keep his memory alive.
We have been in this church for 20 years . We have great friends and wonderful fellowship but will be exiting soon, Why?
The music is a concert of performers.
Drums are overpowering.During prayer time and communion it is louder so that prayers cannot hear.Songs sung have no bearing to the message or the occason.During communion the songs dont reflect on Christ on the cross butother themes.Our excellent pastor just resigned.
He was there 15 years but received no farewell gathering.

In order to grow more resilient and peaceful, I hope to take up life-giving habits and drop life-taking habits. I know from past experience that I cannot change to healthier ways of living on my own. I need support from others. To receive this encouragement, I am joining twelve other SCI chaplains and other colleagues in a six-week Living Compass Wellness Circle lead by River Chaplain Associate Rev. Bob Coulson. What I appreciate about Living Compass Wellness Circles is that these groups focus on preventative behavioral change instead of ideas. These groups help a person build habits that reduce day to day stress through cultivating improved relational, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. I know that if I can improve any one of these areas, my whole life gets better. I become more resilient and more productive. I become a better dad, husband, friend, and chaplain.
O God, in the face of our challenges, and the challenges of our world, grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change; the courage to change the things we can; and the wisdom to know the difference. e24fc04721
