Welcome to my academic home! I'm Yotam Sofer, a Ph.D. Candidate in Strategy and Innovation at Copenhagen Business School, on track to graduate in June 2025.
My research focuses on the complexities of innovation management, with a particular interest in how funding strategies shape the scientific workforce and drive knowledge production. Additionally, I'm interested in the inequalities within innovation processes and explores how academic knowledge finds its way into policymaking.
In my dissertation, "Three Essays on the Economics of Science," I investigate various aspects of this field. From examining the effects of institutional changes on scientific output and workforces to exploring how social media influences the spread of Knowledge. My work aims to contribute meaningful insights to our understanding of the innovation ecosystem.
My academic journey has been enriched by experiences at institutions like Harvard Business School, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Lund University, The Maurice Falk Institute for Economic Research in Israel and the Bank of Israel's Research Division. These opportunities have provided me with a solid grounding in both theoretical and applied aspects of strategy and innovation, as well as the economics of science, fueling my drive to contribute to these fields.
I'm deeply committed to fostering a collaborative research environment. You'll often find me reviewing for conferences, organizing workshops, or running seminar series. I believe in the power of community in academia and strive to contribute to its growth and development.
I'm always excited to engage in discussions about research, collaboration opportunities, or anything related to strategy and innovation management. Feel free to explore my work further or reach out – I'd love to connect!
