Welcome! First, call me Yota.
I come from Patras, Greece, where I obtained a 5-year diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics, as well as a Masters degree in the Science of Computers' Technology, from the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras. My PhD in Informatics was received from the University of Edinburgh.Â
During my doctoral studies, I spent 5 months in Paris, as a placement at Inria Saclay. After my PhD, I travelled back to France, this time in Lyon, for a post-doctoral position at Inria Lyon. Then I returned north, in Dublin, for a short research contract at University College of Dublin, and finally I settled in Denmark where I worked as research assistant at DTU Compute and then at the University of Copenhagen.
Since 2023, I am a Lecturer of Computer Science at DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia, where I teach Complex Networks, Computational Analysis of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence and mentor research assistants in projects within my research interests.
My Research Interests Include:
Human mobility and mobility information processing
Human-centered data science
Privacy preservation of mobility data
