Emotions I
Unit 1.7
Unit 1.7
"Yoshio ahhka èz yoshike!"
You make me happy!
Emotions are an essential part of vocabulary, as they allow us to express our feelings!
Words for emotions in Yoshispeak are actually quite straightforward:
/Ka/
Emotion, Feeling
/Ahhka/
Happy, Jolly, Joyful
/Ôka/
Sad, Unhappy
/Ôkas/
Depressed, Very unhappy
/Buka/
Angry, Upset, Unhappy
/Puka/
Calm, Neutral, Alright
Some of the emotions are pretty easy to remember!
For instance, "Happy" is literally "'Yes' emotion" and "Upset" is "'No' emotion".
/Æka/
Surprised, Shocked
/Sbukika/
Scared, Worried, Frightened
Those ones were the silliest, Sbukika being "Scary emotion" and Æka being "Screaming emotion"! Many words in Yoshispeak have a clear meaning like this, but they can still be deceiving so make sure you learn every word carefully!
Some examples of the new words used in text:
/Ahhke, yoshio sei ahhka!/
Thank you, I'm happy now!
/Yoshi sbukika èz gyuz'rs./
Yoshi is scared of vegetables.
Note that in Yoshispeak, you don't usually say stuff like "He makes me happy" like in English (Unless it's outside the present), rather you say that you're "Happy from him". This applies to all emotions, including scared, though that one lines up a bit better with the English translation.
/Yoshiyî ahhka èz yoshiyî--jers!/
His friends make him happy!
/Agyabu ôka, yoshio zdes!/
"Don't be sad, I'm here!"
