Nanoscale Materials Imaging and Integration Laboratory

Welcome to the Heo research group website. We are primarily interested in all forms of functional materials with focus on complex oxides, metals, organic halide perovskites, and van der Waals materials for next-generation energy and information technologies. Our invesitgation of these materials invovles characterization using a wide range of advanced scanning probe microscopy techniques to explore fundamentals of mechanical, electronic, ionic, optical and magnetic properties at the nanoscale.

The Heo Research Group is currently seeking motivated students and researchers to join our team. We welcome inquiries from:

• Undergraduate students interested in hands-on research experience in nanoscale materials and scanning probe microscopy

• Graduate students (M.S./Ph.D.) aiming to pursue advanced studies in condensed matter physics and functional materials

• Postdoctoral researchers with expertise in scanning probe techniques, oxide materials, or nanodevice applications
