I grew up in Qiandaohu (literally, One Thousand Lake), a small town in Hangzhou, China, and attended Peking University as an undergrad and grad. When I was a student in PKU, I was very fortunate to work with Prof. Neng Liu, who specializes in social movements and urban sociology. I got my B.A. and M.A. degree there.
I had stayed in Beijing for 8 years before I moved to Tucson, AZ as a doctoral student in School of Sociology. I am developing my research passion in the areas of social movements, computational and statistical methods, stratification, and demography.
Here I am also very lucky to meet my wife, Yi, a gorgeous Ph.D student in Department of East Asian Studies. We have two wonderful boy cats, Mr. Snow and Mr. Max.
