第30回平日杯を開催しました
3月10日（月）、テニス日和に恵まれ、平日杯（Monday Cup）トーナメントを開催しました。会員23名、ゲスト17名が参加し、表彰式、懇親会後もクラブライフを楽しまれました。次回は、9月29日（月）の予定です。
On March 10th, we were blessed with perfect weather for tennis and held a tournament called the Monday Cup. A total of 23 members and 17 guests participated, and after the awards ceremony and social gathering, everyone continued to enjoy our club life. The next event is scheduled for September 29th.

YC&ACとの定期交流戦
3月1日（土）、YC & ACとYITCとの定期交流戦を、本年はYITCで開催しました。
YITCからはYITC内で公募した選手16名、YC & ACから12名の選手が熱戦を繰り広げました。
結果は、12対3でYC & ACの勝利で終わりました。来年は、YC & ACに於いて開催です。
On Saturday, March 1st, this year's regular exchange match between YC & AC and YITC was held at YITC.
16 players from YITC and 12 players from YC & AC participated, engaging in intense matches.
The result was a 12-3 victory for YC & AC. Next year, the event will be held at YC & AC.

チャレンジテニス生 児島彩佳さんにエールを送ろう！
私たちYITCでは、チャレンジテニスを通じ障害をもつ児童や青少年を支援し育成しています。なんと、その活動に長年通っている児島彩佳さんが、3月にイタリア・トリノで開催されるスペシャル・オリンピックのアルペンスキーで、日本代表選手に選ばれました。
スキーの技術はもちろんのこと、自身の体調や意思をしっかりと競技委員に伝えられることが必要で、じつは4年前にもあと一歩で出場というところまでいったものの叶わなかったそうです。
彩佳さんは毎月2回開催しているチャレンジテニスに参加し、プレーヤーやボランティア・コーチらたくさんの仲間たちとの会話を通じてコミュニケーション力に磨きがかかったことで、見事今回の出場につなげることができたそうです。
いやはや、それにしても彩佳さん、すごいですね。お見事！さあ、皆んなでお祝いし、応援しましょう。頑張れ彩佳さん！！
YITC supports and nurtures children and young people with disabilities through Challenge Tennis. Ayaka Kojima, who has been participating in our activities for many years, has been selected as a member of the Japanese national team for alpine skiing at the Special Olympics to be held in Turin, Italy in March.
In addition to skiing skills, it is necessary to be able to clearly communicate one's physical condition and intentions to the competition committee. In fact, four years ago, Ayaka was one step away from participating, but she couldn't go through.
Ayaka participated in the Challenge Tennis held twice a month, and by talking to many fellow players, volunteers, coaches, and others, she was able to improve her communication skills, which led to her successful participation this time.
Wow, Ayaka is amazing. Well done! Let's all celebrate and cheer her on. Good luck, Ayaka!!

横浜市教育委員会より表彰されました
YITCでは、テニスを通じた子供たちへの健全育成のため、近隣小学校の児童を対象としたテニス教室を開催しています。
この度、その長きにわたる活動、地域への貢献と功績に対し横浜市教育委員会より表彰を受けました。
2/14（金）、横浜市庁舎において表彰式があり、横浜市教育長から賞状と盾が授与され、YITCを代表して室賀会長が式典へ参加いたしました。
またうれしいことに、隣接する元街小学校の児童から「時間がたつのがあっという間で、もっとやりたかったなと思いました」「次はサーブとボレーを上手にやりたいです」といった感謝の寄せ書きをいただきました。
YITCでは、引き続きこの活動を継続してまいります。
いつもボランティアとしてご尽力いただいているメンバーの皆さま、本当にありがとうございます。
また、ご興味いただけるメンバーの皆さまも、ぜひぜひ一度ご参加くださいませ。
YITC holds tennis classes for children from nearby elementary schools in order to promote the healthy development of children through tennis.
We have just received an award from the Yokohama City Board of Education for our long-standing activities and our contributions and achievements to the community.
The award ceremony was held on Friday, February 14th at Yokohama City Hall, where the Yokohama City Superintendent of Education presented the team with a certificate and plaque, and Chairman Muroga attended the ceremony on behalf of YITC.
We were also happy to receive a message of gratitude from the children of the neighboring Motomachi Elementary School, who wrote comments such as "The time passed by so quickly and I wish I could have done more," and "Next time I'd like to improve my serve and volley."
YITC will continue this activity.
We would like to thank all of our members for their continued hard work as volunteers.

the 37th IDT will be held on May 17
Dear Tennis Friends,
We are excited to announce that the 37th International Doubles Tournament (IDT) will be held at YITC on Saturday, May 17, 2025. In case of rain, the tournament will be played the following day (Sunday, May 18).
The Governor's Cup will be awarded to the victorious Men's Doubles Team and the Mayor's Cup will go to the Mixed Doubles winners. This year, we are accepting a maximum of 24 entries for the Men's Doubles and 16 entries for the Mixed, so please sign up early to avoid missing out.
Please sign up using the IDT entry form from now until the deadline on Friday, April 25. The URLs are as follows:

2024年最後の中区子供テニス教室を開催
2024年最後の中区子供テニス教室を、12月1日に開催しました。
52名の子供が約2時間の間、YITCコーチのレッスンを受けました。
今年は計4回、延べ人数240名を超える多くの子供たちに参加いただき、YITCとしてもうれしい限りです。
来年の第1回目は4月13日に開催します。こちらのページ(https://www.yitc.org/j/free/index.shtml)にて3月11日から申し込めます。ご参加お待ちしております。
The final Naka-ku children's tennis class of 2024 was held on December 1st.
52 children received lessons from YITC coaches for approximately two hours.
This year, a total of four sessions were held, with a total of over 240 children participating, which YITC is very pleased about.

Diplomats' Day held on November 9th
11月9日、YITCで恒例の「外交官の日」が開催されました。
「外交官の日」は、YITCが大使、外交官とその家族、友人を招待して、テニスのトーナメントと交流パーティーを開催して国際交流するイベントです。
在日16大使館から32名、YITCメンバー38名、合計70名の選手が参加しました。大使館とYITCの選手を混ぜた12チームがトーナメントでテニスの腕を競いつつ、プレーを楽しみました。トーナメント表彰式の後、大使館からのポットラックとYITCから提供されたBBQ&Foodで、選手と観客合わせた総勢124名で交流パーティーが行われました。 天候にも恵まれて、参加者全員が気持ちの良い一日を過ごしました。YITCは、これからも、テニスを通して国際理解の促進に寄与するという理念のもと、活動していきます。
On November 9th, YITC held its annual Diplomats' Day.
Diplomats' Day is an international exchange event where YITC invites ambassadors, diplomats, their families and friends to a tennis tournament and social party.
A total of 70 players participated, including 32 players from 16 embassies in Japan and 38 YITC members. 12 teams, a mix of embassy and YITC players, competed in the tournament and enjoyed playing tennis. After the tournament awards ceremony, a social party was held for a total of 124 people, including players and spectators, with potlucks from the embassies and BBQ & Food provided by YITC. Blessed with good weather, all participants enjoyed a pleasant day. YITC will continue to work under the philosophy of contributing to the promotion of international understanding through tennis.

秋の中区子供テニス教室を開催
何とか天候にも恵まれて、今年第3回目となる中区子供テニス教室を、本日開催しました。
55名の子供が参加して、6クラスに分かれて、約2時間の間、YITCコーチのレッスンを受けました。
次回は、12月1日を予定しております。(11月11日からYITCホームページで申込開始予定）
Luckily the weather blessed us, and we held the third Naka Ward Children's Tennis School of the year today.
55 children participated, split into six classes, and received lessons from YITC coaches for about two hours.
The next school is scheduled for December 1st. (Applications will open on the YITC website from November 11th.)

6月の中区子供テニス教室を開催
YITC公益事業のひとつである子供への無料テニス教室を、本日開催しました。

Seagull Day
6月2日の日曜日に、恒例の横浜市医師会テニス部とYITCの対抗戦であるSeagull Dayを開催しました。
双方から合計60名の方々が参加し、団体戦を行いました。勝敗はともかく、穏やかな天候のもとで楽しいプレーが繰り広げられました。
また、恒例となる医療に関するレクチャーが講演されました。
講師は、ゆうあいクリニック名誉院長 小澤幸彦先生、タイトルは「前立腺癌 私の体験もふまえて」であり、皆真剣に聴講しました。
試合後に懇親交流パーティーを行いました。横浜市医師会テニス部の皆さま、楽しいひとときをありがとうございました！
Last Sunday, we held the annual "Seagull Day" match between the Yokohama Medical Association Tennis Club and YITC.
A total of 60 people from both club participated in the team match. Regardless of whether we won or lost, we enjoyed playing under mild weather.
In addition, the customary medical lecture was given.
The lecturer was Dr. Ozawa Yukihiko, Honorary Director of Yuai Clinic, and his lecture was titled "Prostate Cancer: Based on My Experience," and everyone listened attentively.
After the match, we held a social gathering. Thank you to the Yokohama Medical Association Tennis Club for a great time!

The 36th IDT held on MAY 18th
On May 18th, the 36th International Doubles Tournament was held under clear skies. It was a great success with 96 participants and 17 countries participating, and over 250 visitors! A heated game was played on the clay courts with a temperature of 27°C.
Prior to the event, condolences were sent to Yutaka Katsuma, a great tennis player who passed away suddenly last year, from Mr. Cancemi. Mr. Katsuma was a strong player who won the IDT 8 times. He was always cheerful, and loved tennis more deeply than anyone else. Everyone closed their eyes for a while thinking of his smiling face.
The matches were Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Consolation of each. Total 42 matches were played on 8 courts. The level of performances were very high, and there were loud cheers and applause everywhere.
Mr. Leon Pauli & Mr. Ken Matsuoka won the Men’s Doubles. The winner of Mixed Doubles was Ms. Yuka Goto & Mr. Thet Lwin. Other original awards were created, including Best Fighters Awards, Fair Play Awards, and Best Dresser Awards, which were awarded with trophies and great prizes.
In addition, BBQ was served by the members, and the players and visitors enjoyed the game and conversation over beer and wine. YITC will continue to engage in international exchange activities as a place for communication.
5月18日、晴れ渡る空の下、第36回International Doubles Tournamentが行われました。参加人数96名、参加国は17か国となり、来場者は250人を超える大盛況ぶり！気温27℃の暑いクレイコートでは、熱いゲームが繰り広げられました。
開催に先立ち、昨年に急逝された偉大なるテニスプレイヤー：勝間豊氏へ哀悼の言葉が送られました。勝間氏はIDTでも8度も優勝された選手で、いつも明るく、誰よりも深くテニスを愛されたひとりです。皆さんは、勝間さんの笑顔を思い浮かべしばし目を閉じていました。
さて、試合はMen’s Doubles、Mixed Doubles、Consolation Matchとあり、8つのコートで42試合が行われました。とてもレベルが高く、大きな歓声や拍手がところどころで湧き上がっていました。
Men’s Doublesで優勝したのはMr. Leon Pauli & Mr. Ken Matsuokaペア。Mixed Doublesで優勝したのはMs. Yuka Goto & Mr. Thet Lwinペア。それ以外にもBest Fighters Awards、Fair Play Awards、Best Dresser Awardsなど、オリジナルの賞が作られており、トロフィーと豪華賞品が授与されました。
また、メンバーらによるBBQが振る舞われ、選手たちや来場者もビールやワインを片手に試合や会話を楽しんでいました。YITCでは、今後もコミュニケーションの場として、国際交流活動を続けていきます。

クレーコート整備中です
The overhaul of the two clay courts is progressing smoothly. We are rebuilding the court surface by removing unnecessary objects like pebbles, and adding two dump trucks of good-quality sand and soil to the court. Upcoming IDT(YITC International Doubles Tournament) in May will be held in the perfect condition.
クレーコート２面のオーバーホールが順調に進んでいます。不要な小石などを取り除き、ダンプカー２台分の良質な砂と土をコートに入れてコート表面を再構築しています。5月のIDTは最高の状態となるでしょう。

観桜会 / Cherry blossom viewing party
We held the annual cherry blossom viewing party for the purpose of interacting with local people. More than 100 people participated and enjoyed food and drinks under the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Luckily we had good weather.
地域の方々との交流を目的とした恒例の観桜会を開催しました。100名以上が参加し、満開の桜のもとで料理とドリンクを楽しみました。おかげさまで天気にも恵まれました。
