Yifan (Eva) Liu
Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) at the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy and concurrently an M.S. candidate in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. I received my MPA degree from Cornell University in 2021.
I study governance and public policy challenges in energy transitions by combining public policy and management theories with computational approaches, including machine learning and causal inference applied to novel datasets, with particular attention to the sectors of transportation and emerging technologies.
My research program contributes to public policy, business management, and the rapidly growing field of computational social science. The quality and impact of my research have been recognized through multiple distinctions, including the Outstanding Ph.D. Student Award from the Carter School of Public Policy, selection to the 2025 Rising Stars in Data Science cohort at Stanford University, and the Best Paper Award from the Transportation Research Board, which recognizes work in the top 1% of submissions.
