I am an Applied Science Manager at Amazon, working on machine learning and its applications in natural language understanding and speech recognition. Prior to Amazon, I was a Research Staff Member at IBM and a founding developer of the Watson Imaging Clinical Review solution, where my work combined natural language processing, medical image analysis, healthcare informatics, and insights from cognitive computing. I hold a PhD in Computation, Cognition and Language and an MPhil in Computer Speech, Text and Internet Technology from the University of Cambridge, supervised by Prof. Anna Korhonen, and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Peking University.
