Yerbury Print Fair 2021

Our collective idea of the 'future' has undergone a fundamental shift in the last year. Over this period, it has manifested itself as a yearning for a time when, again, we might hug a friend, go out to a restaurant or visit family abroad. As city dwellers, we have seen our streets emptied of cars, glimpsed smog-clear views of distant mountains and heard the dawn chorus in all its raucousness. The changes brought about by the pandemic, both good and bad, have forced us to confront the broader issues concerning the future of our planet and our place within it.

These themes can be seen, reflected in the prints; gentle visions of the future, which touch on ideas of community, seasonality, nostalgia and hope are juxtaposed with more foreboding visions, darkly tinted by the threats of climate change and excessive consumption.

The prints are all presented anonymously and stand on the merit of the designs themselves together with an accompanying description by each artist. You will only know who has designed the print if you buy one - each is signed on the back.
