Yolande Clark-Jackson is the author of the children's picture book, Rocko's Big Launch. She is also an experienced educator who has been teaching middle-grade students for the past eighteen years. In the summer of 2012, she founded a journalism and entrepreneurship program at Conchita Espinosa Academy where students learn all aspects of producing , printing, and distributing a full-color magazine. For the past fifteen years, she has acted as a primary advisor and editor. In 2017, the 50th issue of Conchita Magazine was published and distributed throughout the school and surrounding community. Some of her former students have gone on to work as editors, journalists and photographers for major news networks and publications. Yolande holds a MFA in Creative Writing and has been invited to lead several workshops for children and adults. When not reading or writing, she enjoys traveling and making memories with her family and friends.
