Yoruba Child Language Acquisition Project
The Yoruba Child Language Acquisition Project (YCLAP) was set up in 2021 with the primary objective of documenting every aspect of Yoruba Child Language Acquisition and creating an open-access database that will enhance research, policy and development of the language of the Yoruba child.
Primarily, we collect data of Yoruba monolingual children, although we consider data of bilingual children to be also of value to the field of child language acquisition. Hence, the database also houses data from bilingual children. The data base has details of each data spelt out. The database also provides both cross-sectional and longitudinal data and it covers all aspects of language acquisition, phonetics, phonology, syntax, morphology, semantics, and others.
