• YARRAMATE 16 — best for precise misting and heavy-duty grilling; pick this if you need a large 470 ml capacity that reduces refill frequency while delivering a fine, uniform spray.
• YARRAMATE 16 — best for matching dark kitchen decor; pick this if you want the exact same functional benefits as the white version but in a glossy black finish that hides fingerprints better.
• YARRAMATE Oil Dispenser — best for basting and glazing without mess; pick this if your priority is spreading sauces evenly on meat or vegetables using a built-in silicone brush rather than a spray nozzle.
This bottle is designed around a clever 2-in-1 concept that solves a common frustration in the kitchen: the need to switch between a spray nozzle and a pouring spout depending on the task. The body is constructed from thick borosilicate glass that feels substantial and durable, paired with BPA-free plastic components for the handle and pump mechanism. What stands out immediately is the front-facing nozzle design combined with a rear handle, which allows you to grip the bottle comfortably and apply pressure directly toward the food. This ergonomic layout ensures that your hand stays away from the spray area, keeping your fingers clean even when working with sticky oils like avocado or olive.
In daily use, this unit shines when you are trying to manage your fat intake without sacrificing flavor. Instead of blindly shaking a can or pouring a heavy stream, you get a consistent, fine mist that coats surfaces evenly. Whether you are prepping a baking sheet for air-fried vegetables or tossing a fresh salad, the spray breaks the oil down into tiny droplets that distribute more effectively than a pour. The wide mouth opening also makes refilling the 470 ml tank surprisingly easy, allowing you to pour from larger containers without spills or splatters.
However, there is a trade-off to consider regarding the size and shape. At roughly 7.1 inches tall and 3.22 inches wide, this cylinder takes up a noticeable amount of vertical space on a countertop or inside a cabinet. While the glass is unbreakable and lead-free, it is still heavier than plastic alternatives, so you might find it slightly cumbersome if you have limited wrist strength. Furthermore, the reliance on a manual pump means you must maintain consistent pressure to achieve that fine mist; if you pump too gently, you might get larger droplets, and if you pump too hard, you risk creating a wetter spot than intended. Despite this, the ability to switch to a pouring mode for heavier applications like marinades or vinaigrettes makes it a highly flexible tool for serious home cooks who value both efficiency and portion control.

The second option is functionally identical to the first but comes in a glossy black finish. For shoppers whose kitchens feature stainless steel appliances or dark cabinetry, this colorway offers a cohesive visual appeal that the white version cannot match. The underlying engineering remains exactly the same: it utilizes the same 470 ml borosilicate glass chamber, the same BPA-free PP materials, and the same dual-function nozzle system. The dimensions are also unchanged, standing at 3.22 inches wide by 7.1 inches high, meaning it fits into the same storage spaces as its lighter counterpart. The primary difference lies purely in the exterior coating and how it interacts with light and fingerprints in a busy kitchen environment.

When using this black model for roasting or grilling, the experience is indistinguishable from the white one in terms of performance. You still get that precise 0.2-gram spray output, which helps you avoid over-saturating your food with oil. The transparent nature of the glass body remains intact regardless of the external color, so you can still easily monitor the oil level to know when it is time to refill. The wide mouth design continues to facilitate quick and clean refills, whether you are topping up with canola, vegetable, or sesame oil. The handle placement and nozzle orientation are preserved, ensuring that the "no dirty hands" promise holds true here just as strongly as in the other version.
The main trade-off for choosing the black version is that it may show water spots or smudges differently than the white one depending on your lighting conditions. While some users prefer the matte look of white to hide dust, others find the glossy black surface easier to wipe clean after a splash of oil. Since the internal mechanics are identical, the decision really comes down to personal style preference and how much you care about the visual integration of the bottle into your kitchen's color scheme. If you are buying a set or want to match existing cookware, this black iteration provides the same robust functionality without compromising on the quality of the glass or the precision of the spray mechanism.
The third product shifts the paradigm entirely from spraying to brushing. This YARRAMATE Oil Dispenser with Brush is a compact 300 ml solution designed specifically for basting, glazing, and applying sauces directly onto food. Unlike the previous two models which rely on a pump to create a mist, this unit features a built-in silicone brush head with 79 dense bristles. The design philosophy here is focused on containment and direct application. When you dip the brush into the jar and pull it out, the liquid flows through the bristles, allowing you to paint oil, melted butter, or marinade onto steaks, corn on the cob, or bread with surgical precision. A unique feature included in this design is a built-in scraper that helps control the amount of liquid on the brush, returning excess fluid to the jar to prevent drips on your countertop.
This dispenser excels in scenarios where a spray would be impractical or messy. Imagine trying to coat the inside of an air fryer basket or a grill grate with a fine mist; the brush approach often yields better coverage for these textured surfaces. The silicone bristles are heat-resistant, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 446°F, which makes them safe to use directly near hot pans or inside ovens. They are also less likely to shed fibers or retain odors compared to traditional pastry brushes made of natural fibers. The double silicone sealing ring on the lid adds a layer of protection against leaks and keeps dust away from the brush head when not in use, making it a hygienic choice for meal prep.
The trade-off with this model is the reduced capacity and the lack of a misting function. At 300 ml, it holds significantly less oil than the 470 ml spray bottles, meaning you will need to refill it more frequently during long cooking sessions or large gatherings. Additionally, it does not offer the "spray" capability that many health-conscious users rely on to reduce overall oil consumption. If your primary goal is to mist a large tray of vegetables or create a light coating on a pizza crust, this brush bottle will feel limiting. However, for tasks requiring heavy application, such as brushing BBQ sauce on ribs or greasing a cake pan, this tool offers a level of control that a spray nozzle simply cannot provide. It is a specialized instrument for specific culinary jobs rather than a general-purpose oil dispenser.
We compared the published specifications and feature sets of these three items to determine their suitability for different cooking styles. Our ranking reflects our independent editorial opinion based on versatility, capacity, and design utility, not on sales data or paid placements. No brand has paid for this positioning, and we did not test these products physically; our analysis relies strictly on the technical details provided by the manufacturers.
Can I put vinegar or soy sauce in these bottles?
Are the parts dishwasher safe?
The YARRAMATE Oil Dispenser with Brush lists its parts as dishwasher safe, while the spray bottles recommend hand washing for longevity, though they are generally durable enough for careful cleaning.
Do these bottles leak when stored upright?
Both the spray bottles and the brush dispenser feature sealing rings designed to prevent leaks, but users should ensure the lids are tightly secured before storing them in a drawer or bag.
Is the glass safe for high-heat cooking?
The borosilicate glass used in all three models is heat-resistant and lead-free, making them safe for use in standard kitchen environments, though the plastic handles should be kept away from direct open flames.
