Yao (Neil) SHAN
Dr. Shan is currently a Postdoc at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and he will join Purdue as a Postdoc in the summer 2024.
Shan's research interests include:1) Energy conversion technologies and devices beyond functional materials; 2) Electrified material synthesis, recycling and upcycling; 3) Joule heating based ultra-fast techniques for material synthesis.
ABOUT
Born in Anhui Province, China in 1995
Obtained his BS in Progress Equipment and Control Engineering from China University of Mining and Technology in 2016, where he worked on design of tubular heat exchangers.
Got his Master degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dalian University of Technonlogy in 2019, where he mainly worked on the structural optimization of piezoelectric composite for vibration control.
Obtained his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering at CityU of Hong Kong in 2023, where he worked on fabrication of 3D nonplannar piezoceramics and relavant devices.
