Dr. Yaoran Liu is a product development engineer at KLA-Tencor. He received Ph.D. in Electric and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of Prof. Yuebing Zheng in 2021, and B.E. in Electric Engineering from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2014.

His research interest includes nano-optics and biophysics, particularly in optical manipulation, ellipsometry, single-cell technology, optical sensing, and machine learning.

To date, he has published over 5 first-author and co-authored 15 scientific journal papers including Nature Communications, Science Advances, eLight, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, etc. He presented his research in over 10 conference papers. He held 1 provisional patent, and 1 book chapter. He is also a reviewer for over 10 international peer-review journals.
