TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Who we are
Yank is a mobile application that helps users discover items being given away for free in their local area. By downloading or using Yank, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What Yank does
Yank retrieves and displays publicly available free-item listings from Facebook Marketplace via a licensed data access intermediary service. Yank does not create, own, verify, edit, sell, or guarantee any listing. All listings remain the sole responsibility of the individuals or services that originally publish them.
3. Independent application
Yank is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Facebook, or any other third-party service whose content may appear in the app. All trademarks and brand names belong to their respective owners.
4. Your responsibility
Any arrangement to collect or receive an item is made entirely between you and the person offering it. Yank plays no part in that arrangement and accepts no responsibility for its outcome.
You are responsible for your own safety when arranging collections. Where possible, meet in a public place, take another person with you, inspect items carefully before accepting them, and never send money for a free item. Paying courier, delivery, holding, or reservation fees is a common scam.
5. Accuracy and availability
Yank cannot guarantee that any listing is accurate, currently available, legal, safe, or suitable for your needs. Listings are retrieved from third-party sources and may be outdated, incomplete, or removed at any time without notice.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Yank for any unlawful purpose, not to attempt to interfere with or overload any service the app connects to, and not to harass, threaten, impersonate, or deceive any other person.
7. Third-party services
When you tap a listing, you leave Yank and interact directly with a third-party service such as Facebook Marketplace. That service's own terms and privacy policy apply from that point onward.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Yank is provided on an as-is basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Yank is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, damage, injury, dispute, or financial harm arising from use of the app, information contained in listings, the collection or exchange of any item, the actions of any third party, or the temporary or permanent unavailability of any service.
9. Changes
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Yank following an update means you accept the revised terms. The current effective date is always displayed in the app.

Privacy Policy
PRIVACY POLICY

1. Overview
Yank is built with your privacy in mind. The app does not require you to create an account, does not display advertising, and does not sell your personal information. Most information used by the app is stored only on your device.
2. Location
With your permission, Yank accesses your device's approximate location to search for free items nearby. Your coordinates are transmitted to a licensed data access intermediary to fulfil the search request in real time. This data is not stored beyond the duration of the request. If you deny location permission, the app uses a default search area instead. You can also set a location manually using a postcode, zip code, or country selection, in which case only the coordinates you provide are used.
3. Data stored on your device
Yank stores the following information locally on your device only:
Saved favourites
Onboarding answers and preferences
App settings including search radius and selected category
This information is never uploaded to the developer or any external server. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
4. How search requests work
When you search for items, Yank sends your search terms and approximate location coordinates to a licensed data intermediary that retrieves publicly available listings from Facebook Marketplace. This request is processed in real time. No search history is retained by Yank or its developer after the response is returned.
5. What we do not collect
Yank does not collect, store, or transmit your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, messages, payment information, advertising identifiers, or precise movement history. The app does not track you across other apps or websites and contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
6. Third-party services
When you tap a listing and leave Yank to visit Facebook Marketplace or another external service, that service's own privacy policy applies. Yank has no control over and accepts no responsibility for how those services handle your information.
7. Children
Yank is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13.
8. Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always included with the app and displays the effective date.
