I am Liying Yang (Lily), an assistant professor at the Shenzhen Audencia Financial Technology Institute, Shenzhen University.
My research lies at the intersection of policy evaluation, innovations & entrepreneurship, and business analytics, with expertise in the econometric theory of large panel data models with heterogeneity.
I employ machine learning and text analysis, to explore the intersections between the effectiveness of information transmission, the market of ideas, innovations, entrepreneurship, and the dynamic economic environment.
I completed my Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Southern California in 2023. I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia from 2023-2025.
