How to Manage Your ESET Business Licenses with ESET Remote Administrator

ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) is a web-based console that allows you to manage your ESET business products from a single interface. You can easily activate, deactivate, renew, and monitor your licenses for endpoint, server, and mobile security. You can also assign licenses to different users and groups according to your organizational structure.

In this article, we will show you how to use ERA to manage your ESET business licenses. We will cover the following topics:

How to access the License Management section in ERA

How to import your licenses from ESET Business Account or convert your legacy credentials

How to view and filter your licenses by status, type, product, owner, user, and expiration date

How to assign licenses to other users or groups

How to activate or deactivate your licenses

How to renew your licenses or purchase additional units

How to access the License Management section in ERA

To access the License Management section in ERA, you need to log in to the web console with an administrator account that has sufficient permissions for licenses. By default, only administrators whose home group is set to All have write permission for licenses in the home group.

Once you are logged in, click on More > License Management from the main menu. You will see a list of license pools that contain all your licenses from the same ESET Business Account user or the same company. You can expand each license pool to see the license details, such as public ID, license type, product name, status, units, subunits, expiration date, owner name, contact, user name, and user type.

How to import your licenses from ESET Business Account or convert your legacy credentials

If you have purchased licensing for any ESET business product, you automatically receive access to ESET PROTECT (the new name for ERA). You can import your licenses from ESET Business Account (EBA) or convert your legacy credentials (username and password) to a license key.

To import your licenses from EBA, click on Add License > Import from EBA. You will need to enter your EBA email and password and select the licenses you want to import. You can also import an MSP account if you are a Managed Services Provider.

To convert your legacy credentials to a license key, click on Add License > Convert Legacy Credentials. You will need to enter your username and password and select the product you want to convert. The username and password have been replaced by a license key/public ID.

How to view and filter your licenses by status, type, product, owner, user, and expiration date

You can view and filter your licenses by various criteria using the columns and filters on the top of the license list. You can sort the columns by clicking on the column headers. You can also customize the columns by clicking on the gear icon and selecting or deselecting the columns you want to see.

You can filter your licenses by status using the buttons on the top right corner of the license list. The status indicates if your license is activated successfully (OK), not registered or expired (Error), depleted or about to expire (Warning), or deactivated or suspended.

You can also filter your licenses by type using the drop-down menu on the top left corner of the license list. The type indicates if your license is a paid license (Business), a trial license (Trial), an MSP license (MSP), or a not for resale license (NFR).

You can further filter your licenses by product name using the drop-down menu next to the type filter. The product name indicates which ESET security product is intended for this license.

You can also filter your licenses by owner name, contact, user name, user type, and expiration date using the search box on the top right corner of the license list. You can enter any part of these fields in the search box and press Enter.

How to assign licenses to other users or groups

You can assign licenses to other users or groups according to your organizational structure. This allows you to delegate license management tasks and control access and privileges for different users and groups.
