Making the Vacation Experience Unforgettable through Simple, Seamless Bookings

Background Information

This was a project I did during the Adobe UX and Prototyping course for educators in 2018. Chalet Guide is a city travel app focused on helping travellers prepare, settle in, and have a great travel experience.

This project was conducted as part of the compulsory coursework for the Adobe UX Design and Prototyping Course for Educators.

Methods Used

  • Usability Testing
  • 1:1 interviews
  • Card Sorting

Key Notes

Users main concerns were being able to plan visits ahead such that they could spend time enjoying the trip and not trying to figure things out while at their destination.

Users want to be armed with just about enough information to help them plan and get the most of their vacation and the city they choose to visit. Identifying areas to visit, where to stay, movement from the hotel to places, they wanted an easy way to control all of this or at least have enough information to make the whole process as smooth as possible.

User Flow

I created a user flow for a mum going on vacation with her kids. The flow highlights the process of finding a hotel to book ahead of when they would get to their location.

The user flow was created through a card sorting session where users outlined the process they would take in achieving the task and what they would expect. They were given a defined set of filters and asked to arrange accordingly the steps they would take first and what was of more importance to them.
