Venue: Tarab Ling, Dehradun, India
Fee: $400, ($350 if group count will be more than 16), accommodation & meals included.
Please read through all the details before registering.
The retreat will be held according to tradition, with 3 days of protection and 2 days of repelling parts, in English only.
The drubpa is led by longtime students of Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche who have participated in more than 20 Yamantaka drubpas. They have received extensive training in the roles of vajra master, chant master, and ritual master from Garchen Rinpoche, Lama Thubten Nima, Lama Abo, and other senior teachers.
We are using Ari Kiev's versified translation.
We will be divided into 3 groups to conduct night sessions and 2 groups for having meals 3 times a day.
We expect everyone to arrive no later than October 31 and depart no earlier on November 11.
You have all received the Yamantaka empowerment of our lineage. If not, there is a possibility to receive the empowerment online or even usuing the recording.
Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche clearly stated many times that a disciple with bodhicitta and devotion can receive the empowerment using even a recording.

One of the main traditional prerequisites for participating in the Manjushri Yamantaka drubpa is to have accumulated 100,000 Manjushri Vagishvara mantras for this retreat.
Please start making your Vagishvara accumulations.
The Yamantaka drubpa differs in many ways from other drubpas and drubchens. It is a rigorous, continuous practice conducted around the clock, with strict rules of conduct. One of these rules is that participants do not go outside or see the sky for the entire duration of the retreat.
All participants must remain inside the retreat building throughout the practice. Sleeping takes place at your own seat in the practice hall. The practice continues nonstop, with everyone practicing together daily from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Participants who have difficulty sitting on the floor for long periods may use a chair at their practice seat if necessary. Please note that your seat in the practice hall will be assigned by the organizers. You must remain at the same seat throughout the drubpa and may not change places.
For the night sessions, participants will be divided into three groups that rotate each night. Total sleep time will be approximately 5–6 hours per night. This is the only time each day when participants may lie down and rest.
Three meals per day and a nighttime snack will be provided. Meals are served in two shifts, with half of the practitioners eating during each session. Meal times are brief, approximately 20–30 minutes per meal.
Please note that bathing is not permitted during the retreat, except for brushing teeth and washing the face. Moistened wipes (“baby wipes”) will be available in the restrooms for personal hygiene. Participants may change clothing if desired. Earplugs and eye masks may be used during assigned sleep periods.
Strict silence is observed throughout the drubpa, except for mantra recitation and the chanting of the practice texts. At one point designated by the vajra master, participants will be allowed to speak briefly in order to coordinate the repelling practice. Any other necessary communication within the mandala should be done through handwritten notes. Communication with the outside world is not permitted.
At the beginning of the retreat, all participants will be asked to turn off mobile phones and any devices with internet or cellular connections.
If you require assistance waking up during your assigned practice periods (in addition to the chopön’s bell), please bring a gentle battery-powered alarm clock that does not produce a ticking sound.
If you are willing to contribute your time and effort to participate in this event, please fill out the simple form below.
If you know someone who would like to participate, feel free to share this information.
