If you want a wired, musician-focused over-ear experience with rich tonality and deep bass for serious listening, choose YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100; if you need long battery life, active noise cancellation, and true wireless freedom for daily commutes or travel, choose TOZO Hybrid Active Noise. Neither of these is the best wireless earbuds for swimming, as both are over-ear designs that simply do not fit the aquatic environment, but they serve very different purposes in your audio collection depending on whether you prioritize studio-grade sound isolation or modern connectivity.
• YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100: Offers powerful, deep bass with a 90-degree swivel mechanism for comfort during long sessions, but relies entirely on a wired connection with no active noise cancellation.
• TOZO Hybrid Active Noise: Delivers 60 hours of playtime, Bluetooth 5.3 stability, and hybrid active noise cancellation to silence the world, though it lacks the specific musician-oriented design cues of the Yamaha.
• The Verdict: Pick the Yamaha if you are an audiophile or musician who values physical build and analog fidelity; pick the TOZO if you need portability, wireless freedom, and digital features for office or travel use.
The YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100 is built for the listener who treats music as a craft rather than just background noise. Its design philosophy centers on "Make Waves," a concept focused on empowering people to express themselves through sound. This headphone excels in environments where you need to hear every nuance of a recording without digital interference. The 40mm dynamic drivers are tuned to deliver rich tonality and sharp audio, creating a unique listening experience that feels more like a direct connection to the source material. If you are looking for neckband headphones for swimming, this isn't the tool for the job, but if you are sitting in a quiet room analyzing a mix or enjoying a live session, the HPH-100 shines.
Comfort is a major pillar of this product, especially for extended wear. The swivel mechanism allows the earcups to turn 90 degrees, which enhances how the headphones sit on your head and reduces pressure points. This feature alone makes it a strong contender for anyone who spends hours with headphones on, whether for gaming, studying, or professional work. The lightweight construction at 148 grams ensures that even after long periods, fatigue remains minimal. The rounded enclosure and plastic build provide a sturdy feel without unnecessary bulk, making it a reliable companion for home studios or practice spaces.

However, this model is strictly wired. With a cable length of 2.0 meters (approximately 6.5 feet), you are tethered to your device, which limits mobility. There is no Bluetooth, no app integration, and no active noise cancellation. Instead, it relies on passive sound isolation to block out ambient noise. If you are someone who needs to move freely around a house, commute on a train, or travel frequently, the lack of wireless capability might be a dealbreaker. But for those who prefer the simplicity of a plug-and-play connection without worrying about charging cycles or battery degradation, the HPH-100 offers a pure, unadulterated audio path.
The TOZO Hybrid Active Noise model is designed for the modern, mobile user who demands versatility. Its primary strength lies in its ability to adapt to various environments, from the roar of airplane engines to the rumble of a subway. The hybrid active noise cancellation technology effectively minimizes external distractions, allowing you to maintain focus in a busy office, a crowded library, or while traveling. If you find yourself constantly fighting background noise to hear your music, this feature is the game-changer that sets it apart from simpler over-ear options. Additionally, the Transparency Mode allows you to stay connected with your surroundings when needed, a critical safety and convenience feature for outdoor use.
Battery life is another area where this model dominates. With an average playtime of 60 hours, you can go weeks between charges, assuming moderate daily use. This eliminates the anxiety of running out of power mid-day, which is common with many other wireless headphones. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.3 ensures a stable, smooth connection with a range of up to 10 meters, supporting everything from online meetings to high-quality streaming. The ability to customize your sound via an app means you aren't stuck with a fixed frequency response; you can adjust the EQ to suit your personal preference or the specific genre you are listening to.
This headphone is also built for durability and ease of use in a variety of settings. The 40-millimeter drivers, combined with OrigX Acoustic 2.0 technology, provide an ultra-wide frequency response that exceeds standard hearing ranges, ensuring lossless sound quality. While it weighs slightly more at 225 grams compared to the Yamaha, the comfort-fit ear cups are designed to keep you comfortable for long periods. It comes with a comprehensive set of accessories, including a Type-C charging cable and an AUX 3.5mm analog audio cable, giving you flexibility in how you connect. Whether you are a gamer, a traveler, or someone who works from a noisy coffee shop, the TOZO Hybrid Active Noise is engineered to handle the chaos of modern life while delivering high-fidelity audio.
• Best for Battery Life → TOZO Hybrid Active Noise: 60 hours of continuous playback versus the unlimited runtime of the wired Yamaha.
• Best for Connectivity → TOZO Hybrid Active Noise: Bluetooth 5.3 and app control offer far more flexibility than a single 2-meter cable.
• Best for Sound Isolation → YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100: Passive isolation is effective, but TOZO offers active noise cancellation for superior blocking of low-frequency rumbles.
• Best for Musicians/Studio Work → YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100: The swivel mechanism and 6.35mm adapter support make it ideal for direct instrument monitoring and mixing.
• Best for Travel → TOZO Hybrid Active Noise: Wireless freedom, active noise cancellation, and long battery life make it the clear winner for flights and trains.
• Best for Value → TOZO Hybrid Active Noise: The added features of ANC, Bluetooth 5.3, and 60-hour battery likely provide more utility for the average consumer.
• Best for Simplicity → YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100: No apps, no pairing, no charging—just plug in and listen.
• Best for Weight → YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100: At 148 grams, it is significantly lighter than the 225-gram TOZO model.
In my opinion, the TOZO Hybrid Active Noise is the smarter choice for most people today because it solves the problems that actually matter in daily life: noise, mobility, and battery anxiety. While the Yamaha HPH-100 is a fantastic piece of equipment for musicians and audiophiles who value wired purity, its limitations in a wireless world hold it back for general consumers. I would buy the TOZO because the active noise cancellation and 60-hour battery life transform how I interact with my music, allowing me to focus regardless of where I am. However, if you specifically need a dedicated pair of headphones for practicing instruments or working in a studio environment where a wire is preferred, the Yamaha remains the superior specialist tool. Neither is truly suitable for swimming, so remember that distinction before buying.
No, neither of these products is designed for swimming. Both are over-ear headphones intended for land use, and submerging them in water would likely damage the electronics or compromise the seal.
The TOZO Hybrid Active Noise uses active technology to cancel out ambient sounds like traffic or airplane engines, whereas the YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100 relies solely on passive sound isolation from the ear cup design.
The TOZO Hybrid Active Noise offers an impressive 60 hours of playtime on a single charge, while the YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100 requires no charging since it is powered directly by your device via the 2.0m cable.
Yes, the low latency and rich bass response make it suitable for gaming, especially if you prefer a wired connection to avoid any potential Bluetooth lag, though the TOZO offers a 90ms latency spec for wireless play.
