Description: Join us for a fun-filled day trip to Seattle. All students will participate in an Umiaq Adventure at the Center for Wooden Boats field trip in the morning. "Umiaqs have been built by Arctic civilizations for over 5,000 years. Students will work together as a team to paddle one of these traditional skin-boats. Students also learn to use hand tools and build their own wooden toy boats." Following our visit, we will have lunch together at Lake Union Park adjacent to CWB and MOHAI. Feel free to bring your own lunch or purchase food at the South Lake Cafe at MOHAI.

High school students will take their lunch with them and travel north to the UW campus to view a presentation and take part in a campus tour. *Note: 8th graders may choose to participate in the UW campus tour or MOHAI.

Travel time: Please allow 3 hours from Yakima due to rush hour traffic in the Seattle area
