Principal Investigator

Xunyuan Yin received the Ph.D. degree in process control from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada, in August 2018. From 2018 to 2021, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta. His research interests include state estimation, process monitoring and control, learning-based process modeling, and their applications to complex industrial processes. He was a recipient of some prestigious awards, including: Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship, AIChE CAST Director’s Student Presentation Award Finalists, Alberta Innovates Graduate Student Scholarship, TW Fraser and Shirley Russell Teaching Fellowship, and Outstanding Reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Engineering Research and Design, and IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics.

Currently, He is an Associate Editor of IFAC Journal Control Engineering Practice, and Digital Chemical Engineering. He is a member of the IEEE Control Systems Society Conference Editorial Board.
