Welcome

Xuan Wang lab aims to address persistent challenges for microbial production of renewable fuels and chemicals.

Our current research scope include first, how to optimize bacterial catabolism to use undesired carbons from renewable sources; second, how to release transcriptional, biochemical and export constraints to enhance bioproduction metrics. We are also interested in altering microbial metabolism to produce new renewable products and developing new engineering strategies for bioproduction such as synthetic cocultures and novel genetic engineering tools.
