WEI ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Aegis mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
We do not collect any personal data.
Aegis is designed with a local-first privacy architecture. All data generated by the App is processed and stored entirely on your device. We do not operate any servers that receive, store, or process your data.
The following data is created and stored only on your device:
Browsing security scan results: Website hostnames, security scores, tracker information detected during Safari browsing.
Saved content metadata: Titles, URLs, dates, and file references for content you explicitly save via the Action Extension or Share Extension in Safari.
Saved content files: PDFs, text selections, and images you explicitly choose to save. These are stored in the App Group container on your device.
App settings and preferences: Your selected protection mode, parental lock PIN, whitelist entries, and other configuration preferences.
Subscription status: Your premium subscription expiration date, stored locally for entitlement verification.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifiers.
We do not collect your browsing history or transmit it to any server.
We do not use any analytics or tracking SDKs.
We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
We do not collect device identifiers for tracking purposes.
We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
All data processing occurs locally on your device for the following purposes:

Manage saved content
Data Used: Content metadata and files

Subscription management
Data Used: Purchase verification
Storage Location: On-device, via Apple StoreKit
Apple StoreKit: Used for in-app subscription purchases. Apple processes payment information according to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your payment details.
Safari Extensions API: Used to provide content blocking and security scanning within Safari. All processing occurs on your device.
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social media SDKs.
We do not share your data with any third parties.
No data leaves your device, with the sole exception of standard Apple StoreKit communications for subscription purchase verification, which is handled entirely by Apple.
All data is stored on your device and under your control:
Scan records and tracker data: Retained on-device until you delete the App.
Saved content: You can delete individual items at any time from the Content tab. All associated files are removed immediately.
Settings and preferences: Cleared when you delete the App.
Complete data removal: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data, including the App Group container, Keychain entries, and UserDefaults.
We implement the following security measures:
Keychain storage: Sensitive data such as parental lock PINs is stored in the iOS Keychain withkSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly protection.
App Group sandboxing: Data shared between the main App and extensions is isolated within the App Group container, inaccessible to other apps.
No network transmission: Since no data leaves your device, there is no risk of data interception in transit.
Aegis includes a "Kids Guard" protection mode with parental lock functionality. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since all data is processed locally and no data is transmitted to any server, no children's data is collected or shared.
Since we do not collect or store any of your data on our servers, traditional data access/deletion requests do not apply. You have full control over all data stored on your device:
Access: All your data is visible within the App.
Delete: You can delete saved content individually or uninstall the App to remove all data.
Portability: You can share saved content via the iOS Share Sheet.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
