XRadar (“App”, “we”) uses location and notification permissions to display radar/speed camera points and send alerts while driving. This policy explains how we process your personal data.
Effective date: August 28, 2025
Summary: We process your location only for alerts and map functionality. A continuously running service and notification permissions are required to deliver background alerts. We do not sell your data; we only share it with service providers or when required by law.
Data Controller: XRadar — whatscheckapp@gmail.com
Location data (coarse and precise): Real-time position, speed, and direction; processed to display your location on the map, calculate distance to radar/camera points, and send alerts when approaching.
Notification token (push token): An anonymous identifier used to deliver notifications to your device.
Diagnostics/Logs: App errors and performance data (crash logs, device/OS version, and similar technical data).
By default, location data is processed on-device. If server transmission is necessary (e.g., caching/filtering nearby points), this transfer is minimized and anonymized.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Show location on map and calculate distances/alerts.
ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION: Continue sending alerts when the app runs in the background.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Show radar/camera alerts as notifications.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION: Run a persistent notification location service in the background (required by Android policy).
Important: Background location is used only to enable alerts while driving in the background. This can be turned on/off in app settings.
Processing is carried out under KVKK Art.5/2-f (legitimate interest), Art.5/1 (explicit consent where required), and for EU users under GDPR Art.6(1)(a)/(f). Background location and notifications are collected with explicit platform consent flows.
Real-time location: Processed for alerts/maps, not permanently stored.
Technical logs: Retained for a reasonable period (e.g., 90 days) for troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymized.
Notification token: Stored until the app is uninstalled or the token is refreshed.
Service providers: Map, notification, and analytics providers (e.g., map SDK, push notification service). They process data only under our instructions.
Legal obligations: Shared with authorities when required by law.
Cross-border transfers: If servers/providers are abroad, transfers comply with KVKK and applicable data protection laws.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS); access controls and data minimization principles are applied.
You can manage location and notification permissions in device settings.
Background alerts can be enabled/disabled within the app.
The persistent notification indicates that the background service is active (required by Android).
Under KVKK (Art.11): Right to access, correction, deletion/ anonymization, objection, and information on processing.
For GDPR users: Rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and lodging complaints.
The app is not directed at children under 13. If such use is detected, related data will be deleted.
Our app may collect and use your device’s Advertising ID (also known as ad ID or AAID) for purposes such as analytics and, in the future, delivering personalized ads.
The Advertising ID is a unique, user-resettable identifier provided by Google Play services that enables advertisers to track user behavior in a privacy-conscious manner.
We do not currently display ads in the app. However, the Advertising ID may still be used for anonymous analytics or future advertising features.
Users can reset or disable the Advertising ID at any time by going to:
Device Settings > Privacy > Ads > Reset advertising ID
Map, notification, and analytics SDKs are subject to their own privacy policies. Links will be provided where relevant.
This policy may be updated. Significant changes will be communicated in-app.
