If you want a secure, open-ear solution specifically for running where awareness of your surroundings is non-negotiable, choose Xmenha Out; if you need advanced real-time translation capabilities and immersive audio isolation for travel or business calls, choose MINISO MS105. These two devices occupy completely different corners of the wireless audio market, and picking the wrong one means you will either be uncomfortable on your morning jog or unable to communicate abroad. I have analyzed the specifications and design intent of both units to help you decide which tool actually fits your life without wasting money on features you will never use.
• Xmenha Out: Its biggest strength is the open-ear bone conduction design that keeps your ears free for environmental safety during sports; its trade-off is a lack of active noise cancellation and lower bass response due to the open design.
• MINISO MS105: Its biggest strength is the powerful AI translation engine supporting 165 languages combined with Active Noise Cancellation for focus; its trade-off is the in-ear fit which blocks out ambient sound, making it less ideal for outdoor activities like running.
• Best for: The Xmenha Out is strictly for athletes and commuters who prioritize situational awareness, while the MINISO MS105 is the superior choice for travelers, remote workers, and audiophiles seeking deep immersion.
The Xmenha Out is engineered with a singular, clear purpose: to keep you safe and comfortable while moving. This device utilizes an open-ear architecture that sits outside the ear canal rather than inside it. This design choice is not merely aesthetic; it is a critical safety feature. When you are engaging in high-movement activities like cycling, walking, or running, being able to hear traffic, pedestrians, and other hazards while still enjoying music is a requirement, not a luxury. The product description explicitly lists these scenarios as primary use cases, confirming that this unit is built for motion.
Comfort is another pillar of this device's identity. This suggests that the manufacturer has prioritized weight distribution and surface contact to prevent the fatigue often associated with heavier headphones. Because the device does not plug into the ear canal, it eliminates the "plugged up" sensation that many users find painful after extended wear. For anyone with small ears or those who simply cannot tolerate in-ear buds, the Xmenha Out offers a viable alternative that feels almost weightless during a workout.

However, this form factor comes with specific limitations that define who should skip it. Since the design relies on air conduction to deliver sound, it physically cannot block out external noise. If your goal is to isolate yourself from a busy gym or a noisy subway, this device will not work for you. Furthermore, the battery capacity is listed at 400mAh, providing roughly 30 hours of play time. While this is impressive for a full week of short runs, it lacks the rapid-charging ecosystem found in some higher-end competitors. You should buy this if you value freedom and safety over sonic isolation; you should skip it if you demand deep bass or complete silence.
The MINISO MS105 represents a shift toward utility and connectivity rather than pure athletic safety. This is a sophisticated in-ear device designed to act as a bridge between languages and cultures. The core selling point here is the integration of AI translation capabilities that support 165 languages with a reported delay of less than 0.5 seconds. This functionality transforms the earbuds from simple audio players into essential communication tools for international travel or business meetings. The inclusion of a dedicated app, Saymi, allows for permanent free translation without subscriptions, which adds significant long-term value for frequent travelers.
Audio quality and isolation are also central to the MINISO MS105 experience. Unlike the open design of the Xmenha, this unit employs Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This technology actively blocks background noise, ensuring that your voice calls are clear even in loud environments and that your music remains immersive. The dynamic driver frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz indicates a focus on delivering full-spectrum audio fidelity. For someone who needs to take conference calls on a plane or enjoy high-fidelity music in a chaotic city center, the ability to tune out the world is indispensable.
Despite its technological prowess, the MINISO MS105 is not a universal solution. The in-ear placement means you are physically sealing off your ear canal. While this is great for noise isolation, it makes the device unsuitable for outdoor running where hearing approaching cars or cyclists is vital. Additionally, the reliance on a companion app for the translation features means you must manage software updates and permissions. If you prefer a device that works instantly without needing to download a third-party application for every function, you might find the setup process cumbersome. Buy this if your primary need is communication across language barriers or deep-focus listening; skip it if you plan to use it primarily for outdoor safety or if you dislike having something inside your ear.
• Best for running and outdoor safety → Xmenha Out: The open-ear design ensures you never miss the sound of a car horn or a stranger shouting, making it the only logical choice for solo runners.
• Best for international travel and business → MINISO MS105: With support for 165 languages and hands-free conversation modes, this is the only device capable of handling complex cross-cultural interactions.
• Best for situational awareness → Xmenha Out: By leaving the ear canal open, you maintain a 360-degree auditory connection to your environment, which is impossible with in-ear models.
• Best for audio immersion and call clarity → MINISO MS105: The Active Noise Cancellation creates a private bubble, allowing for crystal-clear phone calls and music listening regardless of background noise levels.
• Best for comfort during long sessions → Xmenha Out: The lightweight silicone and open structure reduce pressure points, making it ideal for all-day wear without ear fatigue.
• Best for versatility in multiple scenarios → MINISO MS105: Features like live photo translation and dual-mode operation make it a powerful tool for learning, working, and navigating foreign cities.
• Best for battery longevity → Xmenha Out: The 400mAh battery supports up to 35 hours of continuous playback, offering exceptional endurance for marathon training or long commutes.
• Best for high-fidelity audio performance → MINISO MS105: The dynamic drivers and ANC technology provide a richer, more controlled soundstage compared to the open-air delivery of the competitor.
After weighing the specs and intended use cases, I would personally buy the Xmenha Out if my primary goal was fitness. There is no compromise on safety when you are running on public roads, and the open-ear design solves the problem of missing environmental cues while still letting you listen to music. However, if my life involved frequent international travel or a need to communicate in languages I do not speak, I would immediately switch to the MINISO MS105 because the translation utility outweighs the loss of situational awareness in that context. Ultimately, for running, the Xmenha Out is the safer, more practical headband headphone option that respects your environment.
For running specifically, the Xmenha Out is the better choice due to its open-ear design that maintains situational awareness, whereas the MINISO MS105 blocks too much external noise for safe outdoor activity.
No, the Saymi APP required for the translation functions supports permanent free translation without any recurring subscription fees, according to the product details.
The Xmenha Out features a 400mAh battery providing approximately 30 to 35 hours of playtime, while the MINISO MS105 data sheet does not specify a battery duration but emphasizes its focus on translation and ANC features.
The MINISO MS105 uses Active Noise Cancellation to effectively block background noise for clearer calls, while the Xmenha Out relies on its microphone to identify and suppress noise without isolating the user from their surroundings.
