This Privacy Policy explains how xMath handles information when you use the app. xMath is a math solver: you photograph or import a math problem and get a step-by-step solution you can ask follow-up questions about. We collect only what is needed to provide solving, follow-up chat, subscriptions, and support. There is no account to create, and we never ask for your name, email address, or contacts.
Information You Provide To solve a problem, xMath processes the photo you take or the image you pick from your photo library, and any follow-up question you type in the in-app chat. Please avoid including personal or sensitive information in the images or questions you submit, since everything you send is used to answer your request.
What Data Is Sent To generate a solution, the content you submit — the math-problem image and any follow-up text — is sent for processing over a secure, encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only the content needed to fulfill the specific request you make is transmitted. The built-in scientific calculator runs entirely on your device and sends nothing.
Who Data Is Sent To Your submitted problem images and follow-up text are sent to OpenAI, our third-party AI provider, which reads the problem, generates the solution, and returns it to the app. This content is used only to answer your request and is not used for advertising or marketing. OpenAI is required to protect it to an equal or comparable standard as described in this policy and to process it only to fulfill your request.
We also use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and Firebase (Google) for anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics. These providers help operate the app but do not receive your problem images or the content of your follow-up questions.
History Your solved problems and their follow-up conversations are saved locally on your device so you can reopen them. This history is not uploaded to us. You can clear it in the app at any time, and deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
Analytics and Diagnostics To understand how the app is used and to fix problems, we collect anonymous usage events (for example, which onboarding step you reach and whether the paywall is shown) and, if the app crashes, anonymized crash reports. This data includes technical details such as app version, device model, OS version, and language — but never your problem images or questions.
If you installed xMath from an Apple Search Ads campaign, Apple provides an attribution signal (through RevenueCat) so we can measure which campaigns work. This measurement does not identify you personally.
Purchases and Subscriptions Purchases are handled by Apple, and subscription status is managed through RevenueCat. We may receive your subscription status, product identifiers, entitlement status, and related purchase metadata, but we never receive your full payment card details.
Device and Support Information When you contact support from the app, your email includes basic diagnostics — app version, platform, device model, OS version, and language — to help us reproduce and fix issues.
How We Use Information We use information to read and solve your problems, answer follow-up questions, keep your subscription unlocked, maintain your local history, measure aggregate usage, diagnose crashes and improve reliability, and respond to support requests. We do not use your problem images or questions to train any AI model, and we do not sell your personal information.
Data Sharing We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to operate the app — OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple, and Firebase (Google) — solely to deliver the features you request, and they are required to protect it to the same or an equal standard of protection as described in this policy.
