Your Privacy Comes First:
Excel Reader & Document Viewer operates locally on your device. We do NOT collect, upload, store, or share your personal documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, or photos to any cloud server. All file reading, converting, and editing happen 100% offline on your device.
1. INFORMATION WE ACCESS AND PROCESS
1.1 Local Document & File Storage Access
To provide core document viewing and file management features (reading .xlsx, .xls, .csv, .pdf, .docx, .pptx, .txt, and archive files), the app requests access to your device storage. This access is strictly used locally to:
- Scan, display, and open office documents on your device.
- Convert images or text to PDF documents.
- Merge multiple PDF files into a single document upon your request.
- Save user-exported documents to your local storage.
1.2 Biometric & Lock Information
If you enable the Biometric App Lock feature, the app utilizes device biometric sensors (Fingerprint, Face ID, or PIN) via system APIs to verify your identity. Your biometric details are processed securely by your device's operating system and are never accessed or stored by our app.
1.3 Camera & Photos (Optional)
When using the "Image to PDF" tool, the app requests access to your Camera or Photo Gallery. Photos selected or captured are solely processed on-device to compile your PDF document and are not stored externally.
2. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED DATA
We work with trusted third-party service providers to monetize, analyze performance, and deliver notifications. These services may collect standard non-personally identifiable technical diagnostic data:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used to show advertisements in the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising ID), IP address, and interaction data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads in compliance with Google Play policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Used to deliver push notifications regarding app features or updates. FCM uses anonymous tokens to target messages.
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: Used for diagnostic crash logs, performance metrics, and device hardware statistics to help us fix bugs and improve application stability.
3. DATA SECURITY & STORAGE
Since your documents and files are stored strictly on your local device storage, security depends on your device's security settings. We recommend using device encryption and enabling our built-in Biometric App Lock for added protection.
4. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our app does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.
5. DEVICE PERMISSIONS REQUIRED
- Storage / Read External Storage: To view, search, and manage spreadsheets, PDFs, and documents on your device.
- Camera (Optional): To capture images for the Image-to-PDF tool.
- Biometric / Fingerprint (Optional): To secure app access using device lock.
- Notification Permission: To receive push updates and alerts.
6. YOUR DATA RIGHTS & CONTROL
Since all your files are stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data. You can delete, modify, or backup your files at any time, or revoke app permissions via your Android device Settings.
7. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any updates. Changes are effective when posted here.
