XL Genius AI ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile and web applications.
A. User-Created Content (Worksheet Data)
Spreadsheet Data: Formulas, text entries, numbers, custom formatting, and cell comments that you enter into the workbook are processed locally on your device or in your browser session.
Storage: Unless you explicitly export or sync your files, workbook data is stored locally on your device using client-side storage mechanisms (such as localStorage or IndexedDB). We do not store your private spreadsheet rows on external databases without your authorization.
B. Camera and Images (Table OCR Extractor)
If you use the optional AI Table OCR Extractor feature, the App may request permission to access your device’s camera or photo gallery to capture or select images containing tables or documents.
Image Processing: Images captured for OCR analysis are processed solely for extracting tabular text data and converting it into worksheet cells. We do not use your personal images or extracted table contents to build advertising profiles or share with data brokers.
C. AI & Machine Learning Features
Features utilizing artificial intelligence (such as formula explanations, formula generation, and data transformation) process user-submitted prompts or formula queries through secure API connections.
Inputs provided to AI features are used solely to fulfill your specific real-time request (e.g., explaining an XLOOKUP formula).
D. Device and Technical Information
Standard, non-personally identifiable diagnostic information (such as app version, crash logs, device model, and operating system) may be collected automatically by app store platforms (e.g., Google Play Services) to help us diagnose errors and improve app stability.
We use the information collected exclusively to:
Provide and maintain core spreadsheet simulation, calculation, and formula auditing features.
Parse formulas, calculate cell outputs, and render charts or sparklines.
Process images into spreadsheet tables via optical character recognition (OCR) when requested by you.
Facilitate client-side file exports (such as exporting to CSV or PDF and printing worksheets).
Identify and fix technical bugs, crashes, or performance bottlenecks.
No Sale of Personal Data: We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal data or spreadsheet contents.
Third-Party Service Providers: The App may utilize trusted third-party SDKs and service providers to operate, such as:
Google Play Services: For app distribution, crash reporting, and platform diagnostics.
AI Service Providers: For processing user queries when interacting with AI assistance or OCR endpoints.
These providers are bound by strict contractual obligations to protect your information and may not use it for any independent purpose.
Depending on the features you choose to use, the App may request the following permissions:
Camera / Storage / Photos: To allow you to take photos or select images of tables for the OCR extraction tool.
Network Access: Required to communicate with formula assistance APIs and fetch app updates.
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time via your device's system settings.
Local Storage: Your worksheets and settings remain on your local device until you clear your app data or uninstall the application.
Security: We employ industry-standard encryption protocols (such as HTTPS/TLS) to secure data in transit when interacting with online services.
XL Genius AI does not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate corrective action.
