Welcome to my personal website! I am Xizhao Wang, a PhD candidate in Managerial Economics and Strategy at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. I am a 2025-2026 NBER Doctoral Dissertation Fellow.

I investigate how institutions, human capital, and emerging technologies shape the creation and diffusion of knowledge. My research applies tools from applied microeconomics, causal inference, and AI techniques such as natural language processing and machine learning.

My research has been published in Nature and my dissertation has received several honors, including the Best PhD Student Paper Prize at the USC Marshall AIM Conference, the Best PhD Paper Prize at the SMS Conference, and the Best Poster Award at the ICSSI Conference. My work was also selected for the Best Paper Proceedings and nominated for both Best Conference Paper and Best PhD Paper at the AOM Conference. I am also a recipient of the NBER Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship.
