I am an Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Science in the Department of Physics at the University of Nevada, Reno. Previously, I was a research scientist at Johns Hopkins University and an Advanced Study Program postdoc at NCAR. I received my PhD at Caltech, working with Professor Tapio Schneider.
My research interests include climate dynamics (extratropical-tropical teleconnection, tracer transport) and polar climate (cloud feedback).
You can find out more about my research here.
I am looking for a motivated postdoc to work on Southern Ocean teleconnection to join my group. Please contact me via email if you're interested.

Sally will be presenting her new work on "Robust yet diverse Southern Ocean teleconnection from Antarctic Meltwater: Insights from SOFIA" at the AGU Fall Meeting 2024 in Washington DC!
A new paper looking at the (non)linearity of multi-model response to CO2 forcing is published on Environmental Research: Climate.
Sally's new paper published in npj Climate and Atmospheric Sciences was featured in NEVADAToday: Researchers use observations to remove bias in climate models in Southern Hemisphere
Sally answered questions about how rainbows form in recognition of Pride Month: Ask the Professor: How do rainbows form?
