Xinzheng Shi

Xinzheng Shi is currently a professor of economics in the School of Economics at Peking University. He obtained a Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2009. Before he joined Peking University, he had worked in the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University from 2009 to 2024. His research area is labor economics and development economics. He has published papers in journals such as Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Economic Research Journal (in Chinese), and China Economic Quarterly (in Chinese). He is now serving as an associate editor for Economic Development and Cultural Change and China Journal of Economics (in Chinese).
