My name is Mouzhe Xie (谢谋哲). I was born and grew up in Hohhot (ᠬᠥᠬᠡᠬᠣᠲᠠ), a vibrant city with 400 years' history in northern China where Mongolian, Han Chinese, and Islamic cultures mingle in harmony. I did postdoctoral research at the Maurer Lab, in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago, developing quantum sensing techniques to study biophysics at single molecule level. Prior to Chicago, I spent five months at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) as a visiting scientist. I did my Ph.D. research at The Ohio State University with Prof. Rafael Brüschweiler, and obtained my B.Sc. from Xiamen University with research experience in Prof. Jinhao Gao (高锦豪)'s and Prof. Baishan Fang (方柏山)'s labs. Outside lab, I climb mountains and rocks and dive the oceans.
