I recently purchased the Global version of Xiaomi 13T Pro. I tried to install Nova launcher on it. I did a copy from previous smartphone upon initial setup. I did this twice, once from a previous Xiaomi and also Samsung s22 Ultra. The result is that I only get Nova launcher 7. It will not install version 8r the latest. I think. When I try to do a restore from a previous backup done with the latest version of Nova, all my layouts that I've been using on the previous Xiaomi and Samsung do not carry over. This is really frustrating. There is nothing wrong with the Xiaomi 13T Pro phone per se. But it seems that Xiaomi is trying to block out third party launchers in lieu of supporting its own. Alternatively is it possible be due to the Dimensity chip 9300 they use versus a Qualcomm.? Both my previous phones are based on Qualcomm. I am so irritated with this I am thinking to already return it and switch to Google Pixel 8 Pro that just released. Having said that, Google also has their own Tensor chip and does not use Qualcomm. I would tend to think a product from Google should definitely support the Nova launcher. I've been using Nova launcher for years and it's very irritable that suddenly I can't use it anymore. Any work arounds to get Nova launcher functioning properly with the latest inversion so I can do a restore of my latest backup?

Can't use nova launcher full screen because the gesture does not support it. any recommendation fix without rooting/installing 3rd party app? I use nova launcher/klwp by the way and my device is Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE.

In MIUI 9, the shortcut is pinned to Home Screen successfully and there's no issue till this step. But when I try to open the shortcut, it says Can't start launcher. This error most probably means that OS couldn't find an app to open the file. But there's an inbuilt PDF reader in all the devices I tested. I even installed Adobe Reader and a couple of other PDF readers and still, it didn't work. Here's the culprit code:

I can set Nova Launcher as default launcher in Settings -> Installed Apps -> Defaults -> Launcher, but whenever I tap the home button, the device loads the system launcher. In the settings of Nova Launcher I keep getting the following message: "Not set as default - Nova launcher is not set as the default launcher. Tap to set."

Next time you'll use the home button with your custom launcher running, the system will ask you what app to use for the "home" action. Just select your launcher and set "remember my choice".From now on the settings will stick.

Mint Launcher is Xiaomi's official launcher with a minimalist look that you can customize however you want. By default, almost all the apps are hidden in a drawer that you can open by sliding your finger up the screen. The only apps not included in the drawer are your default browser and a settings shortcut.

Mint Launcher is an excellent launcher that's well-designed and easy to use. Unlike other launchers, you can't customize your smartphone's entire appearance, but that's okay, because the options it offers won't overwhelm you. With this app, you can customize your smartphone's appearance in a snap and make the most of your smartphone.

Android 10 introduced gesture navigation, which allows you to swipe through your apps instead of using three buttons at the bottom. Most phone manufacturers (Samsung, Google, OnePlus) added support for third-party launchers, but not all.

If you are testing Android 14 Beta 1, you might notice that the swipe-to-home gesture is broken and does not immediately show the homescreen. This is a system issue affecting all third-party launchers, and we hope Google addresses this with Android Beta 2, which will likely roll out next week. In the meantime, we recommend switching to 3-button navigation.

If you encounter this issue, please upvote it on Google's issue tracker to bring it to their attention (you can find the +1 upvote button is on the top right): [Android 14 beta] Home screen content does not appear and return-to-home animation is broken on custom launchers.

Xiaomi has fully integrated gesture navigation into their MIUI System Launcher with the MIUI 12/Android 11 update (source), and this prevents users of third-party launchers from enabling gesture navigation. If you want to use a third-party launcher with gesture navigation, you can contact Xiaomi and request that they bring it back. In the meantime, you can download these apps that provide a similar feel to gesture navigation on any Android version.

On older Android 10 versions, gesture navigation is generally disabled for third-party launchers (like Niagara Launcher). We can't change this, unfortunately. In this case, you have to wait until you get a software update. However, you can download these apps to get a similar feel as gesture navigation on any Android version. Moreover, you could try the following ADB command to force it on, but it doesn't survive a device reboot: adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural. To revert it, use com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.threebutton. Use ADB commands at your own risk.

This is caused by the implementation of the system launcher. It also takes care of handling gesture navigation for third-party launchers. If the gestures are not working as expected, a device restart might already help. We have to wait for the Android team and OEMs to fix these gesture navigation issues, and we and other third-party launcher devs are trying as much as we can to support them by submitting bug reports to the official Android issue tracker. Please star the issues if they affect you as well:

Gesture navigation and Android's recents screen (where you see all opened apps) are always controlled by a submodule of the pre-installed launcher, not by third-party launchers (like Niagara Launcher). As a result, gesture navigation may behave differently in combination with third-party launchers than with your preinstalled launcher because two apps are responsible for the home screen and navigation. Like most third-party launchers, Mint supports icon packs, screen transition effects, and other eye candy. There's a standard app drawer (Xiaomi used to pretend those didn't exist), and it categorizes apps automatically. The Mint Launcher looks very similar to the home screen we saw on the Poco F1, but there are a couple of changes. There's also a bundled cache clearing button on the home screen.

I noticed a glitch in MIUI 11 on my Redmi Note 5 due to which I could not switch to another launcher. I mean, when I tried to change the default home app by choosing another one, just nothing happened.

We were unfortunately unable to download the launcher though, as the Play Store listing reveals that all spots have been filled. So your only options are to wait it out or side-load it via the link at the bottom of this page.

El launcher tambin te permite elegir entre tema claro y oscuro. Por defecto, se aplicar el color que tengas en el sistema, pero podrs cambiarlo despus. Desde el launcher, tambin podrs cambiar el fondo de pantalla.

Apex Launcher is a good customization tool for your device. It offers many possibilities to customize your mobile phone. It might not be the most elegant launcher you can find, but it is still very functional.

Xiaomi also came up with a fix for those who have already updated the System Launcher application with the buggy version. In order to get rid of the crash error message, users are required to uninstall the updates of the launcher app. To do that: ff782bc1db
